Local Stabbing

Local News Story

Authorities haven’t released the boy’s name yet. They say he was found stabbed in the chest and unconscious on the front porch of his home on Grove Street shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday, and was later pronounced dead at Whidden Hospital in Everett.

All that Gun control in Massachusetts is doing wonders to reduce “Gun Death”.

“Gun Death?” Witchhunt

In a land with strict gun control we have a land of peace and harmony, where people can put aside their differences…or not….

Townspeople in Bolivia lynched a couple for allegedly practicing witchcraft even though it is not a crime in the South American country, local media reported Tuesday.

So a bunch of nuts are convinced some people are witches…they ask the local law enforcement to handle this issue. The story reports that the legal system said it wasn’t a crime to be a witch or practice witchcraft. The story doesn’t report that the people were informed that witchcraft doesn’t really exist and that they’re nucking futz….

Still they were dissatisfied by these results so they lynched the people. Gun control advocates will be VERY pleased to know no guns were involved, so all deaths don’t count!

Gun Death? Drunk Driver

People often say one can’t compare guns and cars. I agree, I rarely hear about somebody having an accident with a gun that mows down a crowd of people.

Headed home after a night out in Dinkytown, a group of friends skirted a construction site blocking the sidewalk and continued along the road’s edge, walking unwittingly into the path of an allegedly drunken driver who slammed into the group, leaving a young woman dead and a man badly hurt.

Kandyce Stoffel, 23, of Mound, died Monday after being struck about 3 a.m. Sunday near 12th Avenue and 4th Street SE. in Minneapolis.

The driver, John R. Peterson, 23, of Maplewood, was charged Tuesday with criminal-vehicular homicide and criminal-vehicular operation and remains jailed in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Some things can be inherently dangerous, and must be handled with respect and caution. I don’t see any reason to make distinctions on what item was misused when a death was involved….do you?

Drain the Swamp!

If you need any other reason to vote out every incumbent you see on the ballot on Tuesday This is a good one

Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner was convicted today in a federal court in Boston on charges that he pocketed a $1,000 bribe in his district office in 2007 and later lied about it to federal agents who were interviewing him.

A US District Court jury delivered its verdict this afternoon, just a few hours into its first full day of deliberations, finding Turner guilty of attempted extortion, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years, and three counts of providing false statements to FBI agents, each of which carries a maximum sentence of five years.

We’ll see what ‘ol Chuck gets for hard time, but this level of corruption is what happens when our public servants start serving themselves rather than serving us.

Put the fear of God into them on Tuesday!

More Good News

So we met with the Wife’s epileptologist this morning and she was VERY impressed with the Wife’s recovery, also given all the data collected she doesn’t think its unreasonable that she might (MIGHT, nothing is 100%) make a full recovery and live seizure free and medication free.

Nothing is certain, but given that she was having several seizures a week, she thinks the drug taper will go smoothly (as if she goes a month without ill effects, its a pretty good indicator things are running smooth) and she wants us to start tapering in early March.

Oh and the Mrs. worked full-time all week, and it went very well! Good news, Good news!

“Gun Death” Serial Killer

Now this is a VERY bizarre case!

At a hearing that reduced victims’ relatives to tears, the lurid photos were shown one by one in court as Col. Russell Williams, 47, pleaded guilty to murdering two women, sexually assaulting two others and committing dozens of break-ins in which he stole underwear from the bedrooms of girls as young as 11.

He faces an automatic sentence of life in prison with no possibility for parole for at least 25 years.

Wow, 2 Murders (BTW I had to do some digging, but one was a stabbing, the other was a beating. Odd that the paper felt no need to mention cause of death…) two sexual assaults, and 82 (EIGHTY-TWO!!!!!) break ins where the motive was to steal underwear, and take photographs of the bedrooms of young girls.

All this and he has a chance of walking free in 25 years, very comforting that the Canadian penal system thinks they can fix a monster like this in that time.

Also this is a little scary:

He was a square-jawed Canadian Air Force officer with a brilliant future, a man entrusted with flying prime ministers and Queen Elizabeth II.

He likely didn’t kill them because they weren’t his type. Nice?

Of course if any of you are shocked or disgusted by the details of this case, remember, Col Williams beat, stabbed, and raped his victims. These are not “Gun Deaths”, so they don’t count!

Incest In the Gun Control Crowd

So Joan Peterson of the Brady Campaign and the Million Mom March has a post up about illegal and questionable sales at gun shows.

Of course she’s not a fan of the truth, but I want to instead look at her “Support” to her assertions. First up she give an article written by Dr. Garen Wintemute who is heavily funded by the Joyce Foundation.

Next she gives a source by the Legal Community Against Illegal Guns again, heavily funded by the Joyce Foundation.

And of course Joan herself is tied to The Joyce Foundation

Kinda funny how somebody attempting to prove a controversial point will point to other groups that work for the same organization she does.

No conflict of interest there!

Oh and Robb beat me to it!
