Great Video

I like best the part where the RINO pols are ousted as well, but people should stand for values not party in these dark times.

Oh COOL!

Maybe I should invest in One of these

Put room-temperature booze into the cream whipper. Add herbs, seeds, whatever. Close the whipper and charge it with nitrous oxide (N2O -the regular whipped cream chargers). Swirl gently 30 seconds and let stand 30 seconds more. Quickly vent the N2O out of the whipper, open it, and strain out the infusion. Done.

Might have to experiment with the time it takes to get all the bacony-goodness out of the bacon, but I imagine it would keep the liquid a lot cleaner than the month-long method I currently use.

Man I need to make some Bacon vodka…maybe I start this weekend!

H/t to Punk (do you have a blog?)

Daddy Wants to Upgrade **Update SOLD**

**Update SOLD**

I’m totally not in love my my WASR-10, I kinda expected a lot more from such a popular rifle pattern. I think an FAL would serve a much better place in my armory without any real loss. Its de-greased and cleaned, and comes with two 30 round Romanian Magazines, and a nylon after-market sling. Its shown some feeding issues, but the sights are in very good shape and keep a better group than I expected. Also it has a Tapco trigger that’s really nice.

Everything is 100% Mass Legal, and I haven’t done any Face-to-face transfers this year.

I have about $500 into this gun, not including the time cleaning the grease out of it. I’m willing to negotiate on the price.

Of course I’m willing to trade this plus cash for a metric-pattern FAL (needs to be Mass Legal).

Please feel free to forward this post to interested parties. Offers and questions can be sent to weerdbeard (at) gmail

Ever Notice

Ever notice that the person who says “Let’s agree to disagree” is always the one backed into a corner with an indefensible position?

Ever notice the person who says “Let’s not talk about politics!” is the one who broached the political issue and has just discovered they’re out of their league?

Funny how that works, huh?

I Can Think of a Better Name

This is a good idea!

Bringing new meaning to the term ‘good stiff drink’, owners of an East Providence, Rhode Island funeral home will be adding an Irish Pub to the premises.

The Monahan Drabble & Sherman Funeral Home has been in business for more than 125 years, and was recently granted a liquor license and plans to open ‘McBrides’.

I heard the owner on a local radio show, and “McBrides” is an Irish pub attached to a funeral home back in the old country. Good name, but I can think of a better one!

Truth in Advertising

I shouldn’t be so coy, but this “Gun Death” is REALLY Macabre

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ―Police have charged a 34-year-old Baltimore woman with the brutal killing of her elderly aunt. Police say she beat the 66-year-old woman to death with a steering wheel locking device known as the club.

well I guess “The Club” can be used as “A Club”. Thankfully Baltimore heavily restricts firearm ownership…otherwise somebody could get hurt!

Being Coy

In her latest Screed Joan Peterson of the Brady Campaign and the Million Mom March I think really exposes how she’s playing things. Joe Huffman asks her Just One Question She then gives a brief, unsupported answer about reducing “Gun Death”. Joe and a few other posters mention they are talking about overall violent crime and murder, not just the kind involving guns.

She acts confused. I gotta say I immediately threw the bullshit flag on that one. She finishes off with this whopper.

We do know that the Brady Law has prevented about 1.7 prohibited purchasers from buying guns. I have heard every argument possible about why that doesn’t prove anything. To me it proves that if we require background checks on all gun sales, we can prohibit people who shouldn’t have guns from getting them. Yes, they could go to the black market but they have been stopped in the first place. Some gun deaths are spur of the moment or when someone is quite angry. This is not at all scientific, but it seems logical to me that if you can stop people from buying guns, you may stop some gun injuries and deaths. We don’t know this since we have not tried it yet on a federal level. That’s the only way to make it work since then people couldn’t go to another state to get their gun from a private seller. So if there isn’t a gun around, one could say you have prevented a death in some cases. And since guns account for the highest number of homicides, it seems logical to me. For instance, I believe that my sister would be alive today if her estranged husband hadn’t had a lot of guns around his house when she stopped by to deliver some papers. He knew she was coming-she called him. He got ready with his gun and surprised her.

So essentially what she’s saying that before the invention of firearms there wasn’t any violence or murder. Am I getting that right?

Sorry Hon, but if you ban guns, but don’t show that overall VIOLENCE and HOMICIDE goes down (she can’t show that because such data doesn’t exist) guess what? The gun won’t be the #1 murder weapon anymore. Here’s my point.

A knife is the most common murder weapon and was used in 29 per cent of homicides in England and Wales last year. By contrast a gun is used only about nine per cent of homicides in England and Wales.

So much for that Joan!

Also again with your sister! First up, her husband at the time of your sister’s death, he was under a protection order, so he would fail a Brady Background Check, so its pretty disgusting that you are again presenting your sister’s corpse is in VERY bad taste…worse taste than pushing the foolish idea that “Gun Death” is somehow a useful metric, and therefore other death is less relevant. But also Why Is It Always About You? Your sister died, and that’s tragic and horrible, but you can’t project your sister’s death on the entire world.

But let’s face it, do you think somebody like Joan Peterson doesn’t understand the validity of having overall violent crime go down to prove success of gun control?

Of course not, she’s being coy!

Ok I Agree

Had a minor dust-up with Caleb Here about weather or not you should shoot a DA revolver in single action ever.

I must say his new post I 100% agree with.

New shooters are handed my S&W 617 and are taught proper grip, stance, and sight picture. Then the gun is loaded with a single cartridge and the gun is returned to them with instructions to cock the hammer with the gun down range. This way the relatively heavy DA trigger pull won’t distract them from all the new stuff to learn.

Once they start getting smooth with shooting 10 shots out of the wheel SA, I ask them to shoot DA. If they get tired its back to SA or quitting time.

Once a person is a consistent shot its DA all the time because it is the best training not only with running revolvers, but with semi-autos as well.

When I shoot my revolvers I shoot them double-action, unless I’m making very accurate slowfire shots…which isn’t very often.

Revolvers rule!

Sure Happy Its Thursday

Grahhh. Woke up late. The Kale I cooked for dinner last night didn’t agree with me this morning (Not bad food, very good, but I think all the fiber and the Chipotle peppers I used caused a reaction). Traffic Sucked (not to mention the last few miles all I could think about were said Chipotles) lots of work in the lab today. Just one of those days.

I won’t lie, the only thing keeping me going today is that BB&Guns has maybe the best topic EVER!

Bonnie and Breda, with the help of audience participation, will explore the many (and varied) debates in the gunblog community – for example…chili: beans vs. no beans, Glock vs. 1911…join us for a fun hour tonight and be sure to call in!

I wanna talk about Chilli, I wanna talk about Martinis, I wanna talk about Glocks, I wanna talk about James Bond!

For reals I’ll be calling up as soon as the show goes live!
