Big Kid Pants

Our new supreme court Nominee seems to dislike answering questions about anything, and even goes so far as to lend Plausible deniability to a document that she admits is in her handwriting
Our President gives a juvenile threat to Kick Ass that is not only silly, but not particularly believable, and meanwhile is bragging about campaign promices he’s made good on despite breaking most of them pretty blatantly. Of course his followers look the other way, even if its their ox being gored.
Vice President Biden Calls a business owner a “Smartass” for suggesting that lowering business taxes might make things easier for small businesses. Seriously, what a jerk for suggesting that free-market clap-trap poppycock!

Tam notes a bunch of hippies smear themselves in irony pretend to make nice to a group they hate (seriously, since when have you seen an environmental hippie who legitimately supports commercial fishing?), and throw a hissy-fit in hopes that somehow THAT will get SOMETHING accomplished.

Of course this lefty decides the best way to win a debate is to call somebody a “Neck Drooler” and proclaim above all hope that they watch the evil TV station.

Joe notes that Brady Campaign supporters to debate is not to call names, but instead wish they die.

The Lovely Laci stretches his open mind by cherry-picking ideas across several centuries of US history in no particular order, and then levels off at getting grossed out that a photographer might take nude photos of consenting adult women. I thought the leftists were all “My Body, My Choice?” I mean this doesn’t even involve killing a POTENTIAL life, just boobies and good use of light and background. Seems this little snit isn’t terribly uncommon

And where would we be if I didn’t comment on the hate filled rage of this Bigot

Leads me to wonder…that’s a pretty broad selection, and I trimmed the hell out of it for brevity, are there ANY grown-ups in the modern Left?

Anti-Gun Irony

MadRocketScientist linked This Cartoon

over at Joe’s Place

Of course compare that cartoon with this entry and suddenly the Irony goes up to Eleven.

Whether they mean it or not, gun control laws get good people killed, and aid criminals to continue their violent ways

For $weet-P

I can only think of Vector and Rockstar’s daughter when watching this, as the little girl consumed SO MUCH Iron man while developing. (I for get Mom’s count during pregnancy, but it was over half-a-dozen)

Just sayin’

DGU, Teen Edition

Thanks to the Armed Citizen, I’ve found this gem

The wife and I are currently childless (We have her epilepsy surgery and subsequent recovery to deal with first before we can look into that process) but people will ask when they know about my gun collection: “What will you do when you have kids?”

Well not a lot different. I keep all guns that aren’t emergency defensive arms locked up, its just a matter of good taste more than compliance with the law (which may-or-may-not be in effect currently), defensive arms should be kept in such a condition and location that they can be quickly readied, but difficult for curious children of young-age to discharge them accidentally.

But that only works so far, and once a child is old enough proper gun training is the safest way to keep them from doing something stupid. The Brady Campaign idea of “Safety” is simply hoping guns never exist, and let their kids live in a world where unsafe gun handling is shown in movies, video games, and TV, and guns DO exist. Don’t let the next guy be responsible for your child’s safety. And of course it COULD save your child’s life!

Two would-be burglars are in police custody thanks to the quick actions of a 15-year-old.

One suspect is in jail, and the other is at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Investigators say they aren’t sure whether the injured suspect is going to make it. He was shot in both his legs and face by a 15-year-old who detectives say feared for his and his sister’s safety.

ABC13 arrived in northwest Harris County in time to see the second time the juvenile burglary suspect left a home on Royal Place Court. The first time, deputies believe, he was with a bleeding accomplice who was shot three times by a 15-year-old boy.

“All he said was, ‘Anybody seriously hurt?’ and he said, ‘Oh yeah, definitely,’” neighbor Renee Thompson said.

The blood on the driveway tells a burglary-gone-bad story.

Deputies say that around 2:30pm, the suspects broke into the home through a back window.

From upstairs, the 15-year-old — who was home with his 12-year-old sister — heard the breaking glass and grabbed his father’s automatic rifle. The burglary was soon over.

Family members rushed to the home, but the children’s father, Vince Guerra, had beaten them all there. He’s a Harris County Sheriff’s Office Pct. 1 deputy constable and was on duty when it happened. No wonder his son knew what to do.
“We don’t try to hide things from our children, and we try to give them a perspective about the way things are,” Harris County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jeff Stauber said.

Yep, there dies a few anti-gun canards. Of course the old “Guns aren’t used for Self Defense” one is why I have this DGU topic, and why I read The Armed Citizen. Then there’s the whole “If you have kids you need to keep the gun dissembled with the components locked separately with the ammo in a different county” “Safe Storage” foolishness. “Safe Storage” could have seen to kids killed or worse. And of course “Teaching a Child how to use a gun is bad news”….or good news. Also how about that whole “there is no good use for an ‘Assault Weapon'”? Given that the rifle appears to be an AR-15.

So I tossed up two DGUs this week and its only Wednesday. Looks like a good week for all of us.

Quote of the Day

Mike W. had a great comment here at Joe’s:

I absolutely love that folks like Osborne are so simple and narrow-minded that they can’t see the broader implications of their views. If one specifically enumerated right can simply cease to exist once repealed what’s to stop HIS political enemy from using the same means to strip him of those rights he holds dear?

The reference is to a lefty all butthurt that the supreme court stated that the Second Amendment means what it says, and somehow seems to forget the 13th Amendment of the Constitution….or the 18th and 21st for that matter.

If you don’t like the right to keep and bear arms, by all means work to repeal that Amendment, it can and has been done with other issues in the US Constitution.

But Mike touches on something I have a HUGE issue with political hackery. I can only support the tea party so far because the vast majority of these people were stone-silent when President Bush was doing most of the authoritarian crap that they’re bitching about now that President Obama is doing it.

That being said the other side of the hackery has people who now suddenly don’t seem to care that we’re still in a fruitless war, that domestic spying has been expanded, that taxes are going up, that our President is kinda creeped out by the gays.

And here are those of us with libertarian leanings struggling to convince EITHER side to wake the hell up.

Seems I’m Leading a Trend

Rockstar sent me this gem

The Alaska Distillery in Wasilla just recently launched its Smoked Salmon Flavored Vodka, about a year after the Seattle-based Black Rock Spirits introduced a bacon-flavored vodka.

Both savory spirits were intended to complement Bloody Marys, but are finding wider uses among mixologists.

I dunno about the Smoked Salmon, I bet it tastes very distinctive, but I have made myself (and have supplies to make more) bacon vodka, and I think its an amazing drink.

Of course the Martini is the king of the savory beverages, and my personal favorite for bacon vodka. I’m betting bloody Maries would also work VERY well with either of these spirits.

Also I plan on making some black-pepper vodka soon. That’s a VERY enjoyable spirit, as the alcohol seems to dissolve the pepper flavor differently than our aquaeus mouths do, giving a peppery, but different-than-pepper flavor.

Very neat. Look forward to vodka infusion posts here.

Good News

Bob’s Wife Kimberly is out of Surgery!

Expected good news, but great-to-hear none-the-less! Hooray for that, and speedy Recovery for Kimberly!

**Update** Totally posted this early when Kimberly was simply done with the first procedure but still in surgery. As of 6pm Texas Time she is now out of surgery and resting comfortably. Suspected everything would go plenty ok, glad to hear I was right!

Also the Mrs. sends her love to you both as well!

Low hanging Fruit

If you’re bored by it, let me know, but I’m so amused by Kay’s attempts to “Debate”, and no I’m not going to take the moral highground. We’re both big-kids, and if she wants to protray herself as a 42 year old middle-school girl, I’m perfectly capable to laugh at it. (Seriously, look to the social behaviors of familiar 13-14 year old girls when reading he below quotes)

You are the WEER’D in YOUR WORLD.

As I implied in my one simple paragraph to you right wing DROIDS, Byrd left the Klan and at the end of his life was by the side of the FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY.

You? Where are you today, neck drooler?

Ouch. Also interested that before stating that she copy-and-pasted my entry without even reading it. Heh

Ahhhh the ole, “Hey! Look at the birdie! Kay and everyone look at the birdie! Nice birdie! Pretty birdie!” deflection and diversion from the truth! Way to go right winger! LOL *shaking head* Seriously, you’re pathetic. As Maine Goes is too.

Heh, this gem was a response to her statement that Byrd CAN’T POSSIBLY be a racist Klansman, as he endorsed Barack Obama, and is standing beside him in her posted picture. Yep the “I’m not prejudice, I have black friends!” I have no idea what her response means, but it certainly makes her appear the brightest bulb on the tree, doesn’t it?

Mike W. Who loves internet debate more than sunshine popped in and asked how she defined “Neck Drooler”.

Yes. Neck Drooler.

DEFINITION:

ONE WHO WATCHES FOX NEWS DROOLING DOWN THEIR NECK and STATING IN A MONOTONE VOICE, “I wuv George Bush. I wuv George Bush”.

Who says Democrats are Prejudice? Nope, none at all. I suspect most of you know me, and know my habits and stances to some extent. I pointed out the finer points to the lovely Kay. her Response?

Funny….just like after the Nixon years there wasn’t one American who said they voted for Nixon, because they were embarrassed! That said, I believe you voted for Bush twice, you watch Fox News daily, and you have a 60 inch flat screen tv with every cable channel in the Universe on it!

Ouch, you got me there! She forgot that I probably hate the homos, and beat my wife, and dropped out of middle school, and I’m a devout Christian, or something.

I wonder if I applied this to other demographics it would get such a pass? People who know I’m a conservative republican often get totally bent out of shape when I go on my rants about the bullshit oppression of gay rights in the nation. (Opression that is continuing just as hard under President Homophobe Obama, as it did under Homophobe Bush…just to Kay, Obama’s behavior is OK because of the “D” after his name….but I’m the drone!), and I get “Wait you’re a Republican and you LIKE gays?” yep. Sorry to disappoint. I’m not Christian either. I also tend not to give a flying fuck where your ancestors came from and when they decided to get here. But I will note that all this back-and-forth started when a racist Klansman…and life-long Democrat died.

I know a black guy who doesn’t play sports. Would it be acceptable for me to say “Wow, you don’t play Basketball?” Doesn’t sound very cool to me. I have a Jewish friend who’s currently working hard to get her debts paied off. You think it would be OK for me to say “No, you’re Jewish! You’re LOADED with Money!”

Good work, Kay. That’s why I’m a loyal reader of your angry little puss-filled blog. I won’t take the “High Road” and avoid calling your a miserable person. I don’t need to, nor would it be wise to. I read your blog, and know you place no value in polite discourse.

Nope, just an insecure little teen girl being mean to everybody so hopefully people will think she’s strong and smart. Most little girls out-grow that trash. Guess you didn’t. And its a wonder why she’s so unhappy.

There are so many Democrat drones (to turn a phrase) who seem to be nothing but unhappy adult children. Its too bad they just want to ruin everything for those of us who actually grew up.

Maybe we can change that.
