What’s scary is that while I was nodding my head at every point made here, I still think Romney would be a far worse president.
Scary!

Remember guns are NOTHING like cars!
A speeding pickup truck driver killed two young brothers from Texas and injured their father and another boy when he lost control of his vehicle and drove over their tent at a North Dakota campground near the Canadian border, the Highway Patrol said Monday.
Trooper Capt. Gary Orluck said the 30-year-old driver from Newburg was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after the 1 a.m. Sunday accident at the Hahn’s Bay Campground at Lake Metigoshe in Bottineau.
“He was driving too fast on a campground road, lost control and ran over the tent and crashed into a tree,” Orluck said.
Of course “Progressives” seem to have a seething hatred of pickup trucks, because they get by just fine with hybrids, SUVs, and Minivans…so maybe they’d be willing to ban pickup trucks because they’re commonly driven by “Those People”.
Still the chances of them saying ANYTHING is slim because only “Gun Death” counts, right?
Ladd Everit of CSGV gives a crazy rant to a visiting group of schoolkids.
He’s angry and unhinged, as well as a liar. If he likes the UK so much, hes welcome to leave.
Of course comments and ratings of this video are removed, but the big laugh is he’s giving this rant to a bunch of Brit school kids who likely know nothing about guns, nor care, and are probably bored to tears by his foolishness.
Well played, Laddy!
So our friend, troll, and hypocrite Jason Kigore AKA: “Baldr Odinson” has a blog. Like most antis his talking points are so paper thin that he was forced to remove his comment section (to save him time from simply deleting all comments on his blog).
Still he dropped some whoppers, so I feel the need to rebut. First this gem:
I’ve been asked to guest-blog over at the MikeB302000 blog for the rest of the month while Mike is on vacation. I’m happy to do so, alongside the other bloggers there, Dog Gone and Laci. I’m happy to do so. I’m not going to re-post all of my posts there, but here is one I posted there today….
Well first his standards are AMAZING! He’s happy to blog for an admitted criminal, addict, and drug dealer who both illegal owned guns and committed who knows how many felonies…but doesn’t find that to be relevant to the discussion of gun control. That says a ton right there (also the comment section is all but non-existent there as well), but let’s get to the meat!
I love the mental backflips the gun guys do in their opposition to putting suspected terrorists on the NICS background check prohibition list. And then THIS happens…..
Well we talked about the “Terror Watch List” here pointing out what an abomination the “Terror Watch List” is. First A) even if it did contain dyed-in-the-wool Terrorists, its all done without court convictions, and even a set definition of what exactly a “Terrorist” is. I call them “Anti-Rights”, not just “Anti-Gun” because they’re just as against due process and other individual rights as they are against people owning guns. Of course B) Many real-deal terrorists were never on the list, and C) Most of the people ON the list are NOT terrorists, and likely never will be terrorists.
So yeah, thems are some CRAZY backflips there Jason Fake-name! Oh but let’s not skip this one:
If he had just stuck to buying semi-auto handguns, rifles, or assault rifles, and as much ammo as he could afford, he wouldn’t have actually been breaking the law. Lucky for us, he wanted a machine gun and grenades.
And if a “terrorist” doesn’t commit any acts of violence or terror…well they won’t be breaking the law either…and we have no problem. Also I’m not being so stupid as to say that one needs to actually start killing people before the law can do ANYTHING….but Jason knows that too, as he was one of the many antis talking about this story , where an officer is suspended and possibly facing charges over TALKING about killing Michelle Obama.
And he closes with pure irony:
Haters, like terrorists and insurrectionist gun nuts, love to come together on social media. They aren’t mainstream enough to find enough like-minded pals in real life.
Kilgore is pretty much the sole proprietor of “Cease Fire Oregon”, and writes a blog with almost no readership, and has no public support at all. Let’s just re-post this video:
Yeah us gunnies don’t have a leg to stand on…and we’re all terrorists. *snicker*
Post number 2 is just as good:
Geraldo Rivera became notorious for blaming teen shooting victim, Trayvon Martin, for wearing the wrong clothing, saying that the hoodie he was wearing was what led George Zimmerman to stalk and shoot to death the unarmed boy. Said Rivera, “I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin’s death as George Zimmerman was”
Yeah because Rivera has never said anything stupid, or totally bet the farm on something that wasn’t true.
Hey but let’s ignore that in Zimmerman’s initial 911 call, and post-shooting interview points out that he was concerned about Martin because he was aimlessly walking in the rain in a way that looked to him like casing houses in a neighborhood that had recently had a number of break-ins, and Zimmerman expressed concerns that he might be on drugs. Also before Zimmerman got out of his car Martin had both A) checked him out, and B) took off running (but for some reason didn’t run to his nearby home, but instead doubled back).
Zimmerman got out of his car and attempted to locate him for the Police who were en route…when Martin came back and attacked him. He was shot as he was beating Zimmerman’s head into the pavement.
All of that had EVERYTHING to do with his fucking sweatshirt.
Thanks for playing!
One of the Downsides of the FN SCAR platform is that the reciprocating charging handle can interfere with low-mounted optics when working the charging handle.
Everybody predicted that this would be solved in aftermarket….it was.
Nice product!
Its been argued for as long as the AR-15 has existed, is the 5.56×45 a powerful enough cartridge to get things done. I’m of the camp that doesn’t like the round…I’m also quick to point out all the large game animals taken by 5.56/.223, and the amount of casualties of war that have come at the hands of that round…I just decided that 7.62×51 was a better cartridge for me.
Of course the length of the 7.62×51 is MUCH larger than the 5.56×45, so it won’t fit into the magazine or action of the AR-15, which means if you made my choice, you’re choosing a larger rifle platform such as the FN FAL, AR10, HK G3, FN SCAR 17, M14 etc.
Another argument was simply to switch to the AK-47 and the 7.62×39 intermediate cartridge.
But the AR-15 is a fantastic, and ubiquitous rifle, so people started looking for stopgaps.
About 10 years ago the 6.8 Rem SPC and the 6.5 Grendel were designed for the AR-15. For various reasons they never really took off, but the 6.8 SPC came close.
Now we have the .300 AAC Blackout, which is a really slick cartridge. I’ve had a chance to shoot one at York Arms, and I was both impressed by the specs AND the performance.
Well Jeff and….Jeff both have been playing with the cartridge too.
(I love that they kept the chrono gate getting shot!)
I must say the .300 BLK is taking hold…and given that it uses almost all the same components as the standard 5.56 rifle, including the magazine, but has performance much closer to the 7.62×39, but is optimized for the AR-15, I suspect this cartridge has a good chance of taking off for people looking for more power from their AR for personal defense or for hunting.
From Boston, where knives are as heavily regulated as guns.
The slaying of four women in South Boston recently has become “a nightmare” for loved ones and lawmakers who say the scourge of drugs is dragging the neighborhood down a horrific path….The latest slaying came Friday night when 38-year-old Shannon McCormick, a mother of five who had just realized her dream of becoming a beautician, was stabbed to death. Sara Kelly, a 20-year-old homeless woman with a history of psychiatric problems, was sent to Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center yesterday to determine whether she’s fit to stand trial for McCormick’s murder.
Odd that a neighborhood with such a drug problem has such a crime problem:
Since then, cops have made more than 200 arrests in the neighborhood, including at least 90 for drug crimes, while a task force has been mobilized, officials said.
Its not the tool, its the person!

I’m up in Maine today, and I just heard this story on the news:
A 14-year-old boy was shot at a Gorham home in connection with an attempted arson around 11:45 p.m. Friday.
Gorham police said Saturday that the male teen, whose identity is being withheld, is being treated for what they believe to be non-life threatening injuries after being shot at a residence at 8 Mountview Drive.
Police said the homeowner and another person interrupted the teen as he attempted to set a fire at the home, which was occupied at the time. Police did not say who shot the juvenile.
The light-green two-story, colonial-style home was slightly damaged.
Police said the boy was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. No charges have been filed, but the incident is still being investigated.
A 14 year old boy doesn’t look so much like a “little Kid” when he’s trying to burn down the home your family is sleeping in.
Also arson is a violent felony, one can’t assume an arsonist of an occupied home to be unarmed or non-violent when confronted.
Glad all the good guys are safe!
The Maine Warden Service and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department have recovered the body of a Gorham man who drowned Wednesday afternoon after diving into Sebago Lake.
Durward Worster, 29, and friends were diving from the cliffs of Frye’s Leap about 3:30 p.m. when Worster jumped into the lake from one of the ledges and did not resurface, Cpl. John MacDonald of the Maine Wardens Service said Wednesday evening.
His friends immediately began looking for him and called 911. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team recovered his body at the base of the ledges at 6 p.m., according to MacDonald.
You hear about cases like this in most popular high-dive locations every year. Hey, but no “Gun Death”:
51 year-old Terry Flanell was killed Thursday evening, after a piece of explosive ordnance went off. The accident happened during the last 30 seconds of filming for a show that was supposed to go on The Military Channel in September….The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the feds are now investigating the legality of the smoke bomb which turned into more of a projectile and if any laws were broken to make the ordinance.
What a shame. All for a cheap camera shot! Obviously if TV programming was banned none of this would have happened!
