Keep Your Eyes Peeled

Mike over at ENDO links this video

I don’t know much about such treaties, but I’m always a bit skeptical about the UN accomplishing ANYTHING, especially on something that is held as dear as the second Amendment.

While I do think the President is both an incompetent man, and hostile to the 2nd Amendment, as well as the US Constitution writ large, I don’t quite think he’s THAT stupid.

But keep your eyes peeled! Never hurts to be vigilant!

“Gun Death” Eviction

Over Eviction, yep!

A Clayton County woman fatally stabbed her mother who was trying to evict her, police said….The two had been to the Clayton County courthouse Tuesday for a dispossessory hearing, in which a Clayton magistrate court judge ordered Guthridge to leave the home the women shared within seven days, according to court and police records.

When they returned home, police say the two began arguing about where Guthridge was going to live.

Guthridge took a knife from the kitchen and returned to the living room to ask Adu, 44, for money, police said.

When Adu refused, police say Guthridge climbed on top of Adu, stabbing her mother seven times in the chest, shoulders, head and arms.

A kitchen knife, something we ALL have at home. We all have heated arguments at some time or another, and chances are many of them are at home. The big difference? Most of us don’t murder people! Those who use the metric of “Gun Death” seem to think the tool is relevant. Have I made a case that that is bullshit?

Next time you hear somebody spout that nonsense LET THEM KNOW!

More George Zimmerman Garbage

This is nothing but total nonsense:

A Florida judge ruled Thursday that George Zimmerman can be released from jail a second time on $1 million bond, saying he set the bail amount significantly higher because Zimmerman may have been hiding money as part of a plot to flee the country.

After the shooting Zimmerman waited for the police (that he called in the first place), and cooperated with them in their investigation. The released him without charges that night. The next day he further cooperated with the police by re-enacting his encounter in his neighborhood .

Later when the spurious charges of Murder were leveled against him, he turned himself over to law enforcement without protest, and then posted bond. When his bond was revoked, he again turned himself in, despite likely not being in the state of Florida at the time.

Sorry, but if George Zimmerman was a flight risk, he would have done it by now. Of course this case has become a media circus and a lynch mob…maybe he SHOULD have fled the country…

Great Epilepsy Post

Christina pointed this post on epilepsy out to me. Go read the whole thing, not much else I can comment on, except that he’s dead on!

Yep, anti-convulsive medications are indeed sedative that target the whole brain, rather than just the diseased part of the brain, or the seizure complex. When Mrs. Weer’d was on her highest Epilepsy medication doses she’d sleep 9-10 hours a day and tire easily. Of course when she was on that high a dose she was also having regular seizures which are both tiring and cognitively disruptive. There were also times when she’d be very mentally slow and forgetful, and it’s believed those times were also just very minor seizures running in the background of her mind.

Post surgery and now on a very low dose she’s as close to normal as anybody can be….well for anybody who’s married to my crazy ass!

Great Patriotic Message

A great video from Zo Rachel

He closes with his own version of the Star Spangled Banner.

I personally find Jimi Hendrix’s rendition of the Star Spangled Banner to be the MOST American rendition of our National Anthem. A popular American musician playing one of the most popular forms of American music that has its origins rooted right here in this nation at an open-air public festival is really what the 1st Amendment was all about in the first place.

Rock out!

Asterisk

Recently the world went nuts over Steroid use in professional baseball, and there was talk of marking the record books with Asterisks to note players who were using modern medicine to their advantage.

I get the concern. Steroids allow for players to bulk up faster and easier, and recover from injury faster. Still where does the line get drawn? There was a time when certain injuries were career ending, but now can be healed with surgery. And then there are stories like this:

Double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius will compete at the Olympic Games after he was named in both the individual 400m and the South Africa 4x400m relay squad for London 2012.

The four-time Paralympic Games gold medalist won a silver medal as part of South Africa’s 4x400m relay at the World Championships in Daegu last year, although he was left out of the line-up for the final…He will become the first Paralympian to compete in track and field at the able bodied Olympics.

Far enough back in history, not having one, let alone two functional legs was simply a death sentence, prosthesis allowed injured and people with congenital defects to live a limited life. Now we have a guy who’s competing with the best runners in the world who is missing both of his legs.

Frankly I see no point in fighting against the tide. Let the best man win, and part of humanity is advanced technology. The Asterisk is simply the mark of progress.

“Gun Death” Beat the Heat

I can’t help but make a double entendre.

WWL TV reports the suspect later admitted to beating the woman with an air conditioning unit then tying a plastic bag over her head at the group home where she was a care giver.

An Air Conditioning unit. Those are pretty common items in New Orleans. Maybe we should stop concerning ourselves with the item used in a murder rather than the beast behind the murder.

“Gun Death” is a sham and those who use it are intentionally pushing garbage.
