Four “Occupy Albany” protesters were arrested during evening clashes with police as officers cleared the demonstrators’ downtown encampment.

Albany Police removed tents and broke up the “Occupy Albany” camp in Academy Park on Thursday afternoon following a court order, FOX23 News reported….”One television photographer sustained a back injury when he was struck in the lower back when filming,” he continued. “It is trying to be determined if he was intentionally struck by one of the protesters or if it was accidental.”

He added that the police department had gone “to great lengths” to accommodate the protest and said their actions Thursday “were based on a court order and were appropriate.”

I was amazed there were still some camps left. It really jumped the shark with Wall Street and Boston were busted up. Your time is over, and you accomplished nothing, just like all sign-waiving protests. That goes for you Tea Party too. They heard you…they just didn’t care.

Still the Occupy group proved themselves to be a bunch of dirty, drug-addicted, racist, criminals looking to do as much damage to stuff they claim to support, and do as little damage to what they claim to be protesting against.

Frankly I was sad to see them go, as the shit-filled hovels are a prime example of the “Progress” “Progressives” want.

Neat Watch: Psychopathy

Saw this guy on a TV special on Serial Killers. Turns out he has the brain scan of a Psychopath but of course has none of the gross symptoms.

Neat about the Libertarian side of things too. Makes sense that an intensely rational person would be able to figure out that people will find a way to do what they want, and the best solution is NO solution.

Seems that the Authoritarians that I know (both from the right, and from the left) seem to be motivated by fear.

“Gun Death” Shopping Cart

The 13-year-old boy who admittedly threw a shopping cart over a fourth-story railing in New York — striking a philanthropist mom of two — cared more about his sneakers than the woman he nearly killed, officials revealed Tuesday.

“The respondent was more concerned with the condition of his sneakers than with the condition of his victim,”

When will we have sensible shopping cart laws…if it saves just one life…

Hoplophobia

Hoplophobia is often described as an IRRATIONAL fear of guns. Of course if somebody pulls a gun on me, that’s scary. If I was in a war zone, I’d be concerned about being shot. Hoplophobia is something very different. Joan Peterson Tweeted this:

Anybody who knows guns will notice he quickly safety-checks the guns before displaying them, and doesn’t point them at the camera, and only seems to point them Stage Right, which I would assume is clear of people. Of course Antis don’t know how guns work, and aren’t in the least bit interested in learning.

Still I’m linking the video and article because overall they show nothing alarming at all to me. A man is talking about carry guns, and talking about lawful carry, as well as erring on the side of caution (I’m pretty sure there is no place in the United States where you can’t kill somebody to prevent a rape, but he still urged viewers to check their local laws), and the guns he was “Waving Around” were safety checked on camera, and pointed in a safe direction.

BTW go read the comments at the Media Matters site, It appears that your comment must be Hoplophobic to be approved.

So this video gets the anti-rights crowd in a lather. I think we can all agree that reaction is certainly irrational.

How Gun Control Works

Here’s a local story.

The robbery happened at the Guess store at the Wrentham Premium Outlets on Tuesday night, just as the clerks were closing up shop.

The man was reportedly looking at a jacket, and then hid somewhere in the store.

He took out a silver handgun and forced the employees into the fitting rooms, where he bound and gagged them with duct tape, police said.

One employee suffered a minor injury, but is expected to be okay.

Let’s run down on things. I Massachusetts we have a ban on all private sales. All gun owners need to have safety training and background checks before even buying their first gun…and they need a background check for that too! Furthermore all guns are registered with the state, and if you want to carry a gun that would be ready for self defense…or robbery, your police chief can deny that for any reason…and even if he wants prohibit you from owning handguns or certain long guns. No criminal past is needed for this restriction.

Now what do we have here? We have a guy who likely followed NONE of those ownership laws, not to mention those pesky laws against theft and assault.

We have a bunch of good people who were 100% defenseless.

We have a bunch of people bound and gagged, and one injured. The fact that nobody was killed, sexually assaulted, or severely injured simply because this morally bankrupt monster CHOSE NOT TO!

Gun control leaves the good people at the mercy of the evil.

This is the world the Antis want for all of us.

How Laws Work

So as many of you know I’m very Pro-Life, and part of this is doing whatever it can be make carrying an unwanted baby to term as palatable and easy as possible, and as convenient for the countless people who are unable to have children of their own to quickly adopt unwanted children.

One of the best laws for this are the Safehaven laws. These allow mothers to drop off unwanted very young children to a trusted place and have that child be accepted into care with NO QUESTIONS ASKED, and in many cases there is the option of no human contact. Here in Massachusetts Safehavens are any Police, and Fire Station, as well as Hospitals. In Philadelphia its just hospitals.

It allows parents to relinquish newborns up to 28 days old at any hospital in the state of Pennsylvania without the fear of criminal prosecution as long as the baby has not been harmed. Babies can be left with any hospital staff member or if a person is unwilling or unable to wait, they will be directed by signs on where to place the baby. Many hospitals have bassinets located near entryways where babies can be placed.

Wow Bassinets near the entrances where you can just drop off a baby! Or you can wait in the parking lot before you see somebody in scrubs with a hospital badge and make the hand-off…or just pass the kid off to the dude in the parking lot booth.

That’s ALMOST as good as that drop slot at the video store! And given that video stores are quickly becoming an anachronism, it IS as convenient as returning a video to Redbox!

Now those of you who are sharp might have picked up why I mentioned Philly’s laws.

Police are trying to find out who gave birth to a baby girl found inside a cardboard box on a north Philadelphia sidewalk.

Police say the newborn was found Wednesday morning and was in good condition after she was rushed to a children’s hospital.

Thankfully the baby will be fine. If mom is found she’ll be facing criminal charges as her actions can be considered assault and potentially attempted murder. (A childhood friend of mine was charged with this when she dropped a baby into an airport toilet, covered the kid with TP and attempted to escape). All of this COULD have been avoided by simply dropping the Baby off in the local hospital directly, and no charges would be filed, no questions asked, and no harm, no foul.

Instead she chose to do something illegal and VERY potentially deadly.

Think of this case when some asshole tells you that making private gun sales illegal will keep Thugsley the Crack Dealer, from buying a stolen gun from Sumd00d the thief.

Also I think we all need to think of what a great life this baby will likely have as newborns are VERY quickly adopted, and cherished by those who want to have a biological child but are unable.
