Man I Just Ate!

…But I could stand to eat some more after seeing these videos.

If you’ve been reading here you’ll note Chris’ bright idea to gig coyotes with a Cold Steel Spear, I must say that sounds like a pretty good time. A few Pabst Blue Ribbons and it sounds like a GREAT time! Of course that got me to revisit this post and I got thinking: “OK what do you do AFTER you gig your frogs?”

God I love the internet!

Looks like they skin really easy! And then?

Hells yeah, Rebel food is the best food!

Coyote Attack

Coyotes, they aren’t just a rural problem:

The real eye-opener:

Donelan contacted Animal Control hoping they would step in – with no luck.

Have a look at the house in the video. This is NOT rural Mass, this is the wealthy ‘burbs. And the Police were contacted and they did nothing.

I’m sure Chestnut Hill, like just about all of Eastern Mass is regulated “No Discharge of Firearms”. Still that law excepts defensive shooting. If a coyote was attacking my dog (or child!) I’d feel pretty justified in popping it with my carry gun.

Not only would it have saved this woman her dog, but probably other family pets as well.

Carry your gun, and remember, it isn’t just for two-legged predators!

Gun Porn: To Dream

I have a Century FAL, and I really love it.

Tho its not my ideal configuration. What I REALLY want is this number from DS Arms

That’s the Paratrooper model with an 18″ barrel. Its a little smaller and lighter than my rifle, and it folds up nice and small. The only thing I’d change is the FN-style Magazine release to an L1A1 style which is much fatter.
They had a bunch of FALs there:

My one complaint is that the display models have really been ridden hard and not well cared for. Many had mechanical issues, like one where the bolt release didn’t work. Last year (which was my first time ever handling an FAL) the guns on display had been dura-coated and the magazines wouldn’t seat easily because of the extra thickness.

Still I think the FAL pattern rifle is one of the best battle rifles out there, and DS Arms makes some of the best, tho the competition is not very strong.

“Gun Death” Beheading

A lot of people have sent me this story. Bob beat everybody to the punch, but even my Mom was talking about this story.

A Bulgarian man was detained Friday by Spanish police after he allegedly stabbed a woman in the neck and then beheaded her in a shopping center,.

I know very little about the Canary Islands. Actually until this story came out I didn’t even know Spain had control over them, just that they were a small chain of Islands off the West Coast of Africa near the Equator. Still given that its controlled by Spain I imagine it has extremely strict Gun AND Knife laws.

When my Mom told me about the story I responded “This is why I carry a gun”. They quickly retorted that if attacked from behind with a big sharp knife a gun wouldn’t save my life. I said “No, but when he tries to cut somebody’s head off, I’m gonna put a few rounds in HIS head.” This guy seems totally insane so I don’t know if that would deter him from such a horrible act, but certainly while it might not save a life on the spot, it WILL stop the attacker.

Linoge added this story to the pot.

Deyan Deyanov, the Bulgarian man who attacked and beheaded a British woman on Tenerife last week for no apparent reason, had walked into another supermarket a half hour before the attack and asked for a large knife, according to the Telegraph. He was caught on CCTV (above) gesturing how big the knife (sword?) should be. He then told the shopkeeper, “I’m going to kill someone.”

Wow!

So thanks all for submitting the story (sorry I can’t thank you all, but when I get a duplicate I just delete it so I don’t get confused, as I tend to run a bit of a backlog in my Mail), and carry you damn gun, people, there are nuts out there who are dangerous!

Bear Attack

Interesting series of stories in the news. Thought we’d talk about them:

As the above video says the bear was likely emboldened by being fed by humans. Seems that the bear was being fed by some neighbors who happen to have moved away. When fish and game catches the bear they will need to Euthanize it.

Meanwhile there was another attack, quite possibly by the same bear.

A Center Harbor woman got the scare of her life when she witnessed a black bear go nose to nose with the family dog…The Rossignol family said their 3-year-old son, Henry, watched their puggle dog, Harley, get in a scuffle with the bear on the front porch.

Now first up let’s point out that the bear is dead-bear-walking. I’ll note that in the story they mention that the woman who was attacked, the bear was scared off by her husband. What the story neglects to mention was the husband scared the bear off with a .357 Magnum…BY FIRING TWO ROUNDS INTO THE DIRT!!11!!

Look rules of bear safety:
#1. Don’t be near bears
#2. Don’t feed or anger the bears
#3. HAVE A BEAR GUN
#4. When your bear gun and a bear get in the same area, KILL THE FUCKING BEAR!

Again stories like this make Project Bear Gun look REALLY good! And note that even if you’re playing it good and not feeding bear, there’s nothing stopping your stupid neighbor from leaving their trash unsecured, or leaving scraps for the bears, and notice how all those bears look alike? That’s how you look to them!

Be Safe People, and remember, guns aren’t just for two-legged predators!

Editorial Oversight

Found this CNN story through one of the opposition channels, and frankly I’m floored at the title.

Loophole allows for easier purchase of high-powered weapons

That’s the title, but the article is actually a pretty decent (for CNN at least) article on NFA firearms. The only other place the word “Loophole” is found on the page is in the caption to the picture:

Benjamin Ferguson bought a silencer through a federal weapons loophole.

“Federal Weapons Loophole”? You mean that loophole where if you happen to live in a state where Suppressors (not “silencers”) legal, and you can get your Chief of police, or county Sheriff to sign off on the ATF form, and you pay a $200 federal transfer tax, you can buy a suppressor from a federally licensed NFA dealer….of course after a 6+ month waiting period and background check.

Holy shit we need to close that mo’fuggin loophole! Can you imagine how people could take advantage of that? Seriously, can you? I’m racking my brain and sure as hell can’t think of one….

What’s hilarious is not only did CNN write this turd, but CSGV appears to have only read the title, but not the story.

Gun enthusiasts using loophole to acquire full-auto machines guns & silencers w/o background checks.

Heh, idiots!

Back At It

Just an FYI it appears CSGV has had their twitter account restored, for those who don’t remember pertinent details can be found here. I would advise anybody active on the 2nd Amendment scene to keep an eye on them. Tango attempted to reason with them, wanting only an apology and got nothing but rudeness in return. I strongly belive that Ladd Everitt of CSGV belives he’s perfectly correct in making personal threats on political opponents and their families. He believes he’s justified, and I can’t speculate where he’d stop.

Keep an eye on him and if you see any inappropriate content, or threatening behavior please make it a point to inform those who are the target of the attack, and the administrators of the site that is being used to launch the attack.

I’m perfectly fine with them publishing their anti-rights message and political boilerplate, that’s all well and good. That’s easy to work with, and frankly the reality is it does our side good. But when it comes to personal attacks against individuals who are simply giving the other side of the argument, that I cannot stand for.

Maybe CSGV and their despicable staff can behave themselves, but how they handled this recent controversy, and ones in the past tells me they likely can’t change their stripes.

I will also note that you have seen no mention of this behavior from any of the other anti-rights lobbyists and activists. It is indeed trolls all the way up.

Be safe, there are monsters out there.

**Update** Can you say “Psychological Projection”?

CSGV’s promise to victims and survivors of gun violence: We will NEVER stop standing with you, including when you are harassed, intimidated and/or threatened by gun rights activists.

Yeah they’re fixin’ to get back at it.

“Gun Death” Suicide

One of the big paddings for those who use “Gun Death” as a metric is Suicide. More than half the “Gun Death” in America is suicide. Think about that, that’s HUGE. But how relevant is it? I mean when you look at other nations by Suicide rate the US is hardly at the top, while we are one of the most permissive nations on guns. We’re probably on the top of the pile for “Suicide-by-guns”, but is that relevant that people chose one method, vs another?

Authorities say a South Florida man committed suicide by dousing himself with gasoline and then lighting a fire.

Would it have been worse if he committed suicide with a gun?

Yeah

Close the Bun-Show Loophole!

Just thought I’d mention this stupid thing.

The Nixa man is facing a $90,643 penalty, based on accusations he sold rabbits and guinea pigs without a license from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Seriously. If you own rabbits or other small critters you need a license to sell them. Is this to keep people from selling counterfeit rabbits? How about to keep people from selling mini-lops to convicted felons?

What’s the point in owning property if you can’t capitalize on it?

Obviously the common sense solution is to end the Bun-show loophole!!111!!!

FOR THE CHILDRENZ!111!!!!!
