When talking about “Gun Death” to various anti-rights people I love to focus on the most mundane items that can easily be employed as a murder weapon. Pipes, wrenches, hammers, saws, kitchen knives, screwdrivers, rocks, branches, Building Meterials, and hands and feet. I point them out because you can ban guns, and you can ban various fighting knives, blackjacks, saps, and knuckle dusters, but you can’t ban that stuff because its what separates us from our cave dwelling ancestors. You can’t ban murder.

A 30-year-old Princeton Boulevard man is accused of beating his 61-year-old father to death with a brick…Chief Kevin Nietert said the parents had been sleeping when their son woke them asking for money to buy cigarettes. Brenda Diggs got up to get the money and Quentin Diggs started assaulting her, Nietert said.

Oliver Diggs told Quentin to stop and followed him downstairs and out the front door, where they began fighting. Oliver Diggs was struck a number of times in the head with a brick, Nietert said.

Classy family. No matter what the laws say, there is NOTHING that would prevent this. And because I have a sick sense of humor I’ll close with this:

Last week, we were roofing at Wally’s, and a few times a hammer would slip out of our hands slide off the roof. We’d shout “Heads UP” then make sure all the dudes on the ground were still vertical. Why all the concern? Because hammers are DANGEROUS!

Another story, we were assembling a playset in Vector’s backyard, and we went looking for a hammer and couldn’t find anything but a shitty tack hammer. Mrs. Weer’d was so amazed that the house didn’t have any decent framing hammers in it we bought Vector a top-notch one for his birthday. Seriously, EVERYBODY has a framing hammer in their house. People with tools will have tack hammers, nylon mallets, dead blow hammers, sledges etc.

Here we have a “Hammer Death”. In the eyes of people who use the metric of “Gun Death” they claim guns cause crime. Well in this case we have a “Hammer Death”, and damn near EVERYBODY has a hammer or 20. Seems hammers don’t cause crime.

Maybe the “Gun Death” people are wrong.

We must have common sense Time Travel Control.

Two schoolgirls in China have committed suicide in an attempt to travel back in time.

The girls decided to end their lives after one of them lost a remote control to a door, China Daily reports, via People’s Daily. Xiao Hua told her best friend and fellow classmate, Xiao Mei, that she was worried about coming clean to her parents. The names are reportedly pseudonyms.

In an effort to avoid potential consequences, the girls allegedly took inspiration from a popular television show and committed suicide to travel back in time.

They left notes explaining their decision before jumping — and subsequently drowning — in a pool.

Seriously. WOW! I generally point out that pools are REALLY dangerous. In New England where we have cold winters, falls, and Springs, and many cool summer days, a pool is a LOT of work for almost no payoff. When you factor in the risk of drowning death, and liability in the event that the person who drowns is a neighbor’s kid who sneaks away from home to play in your pool while you’re at work, or the drunk teens trespassing while you’re sleeping, there is no reason to own a pool unless you live in the South where its hot for most of the year.

When you factor in time travel….yeah I got nothing.

Seriously, it seems that all the people wised up and stopped killing themselves with things that aren’t guns. Now ONLY guns are deadly. This means if we ban guns, we’ll ban DEATH ITSELF.

Remember when we legalize conceal carry people will kill each other over fender benders!

The case of a Houston man who died after a post-fender-bender fight along the Gulf Freeway Monday will be referred to a grand jury, investigators said Tuesday…The 28-year-old said Welton kept punching him, but he managed to get the elder man in a headlock.

He held Welton in the headlock until officers arrived.

As police tried to separate the men, they noticed Welton was having trouble breathing.

He was taken to the hospital via ground ambulance, where he died.

Well the answer to this is licensing…..uh people? Both people were licensed to drive. Fighting is illegal, and certainly killing somebody over a car wreck is illegal. This isn’t a “Gun Death”, so I guess we should just ignore it, right?
