“Gun Death” Officer Down

A scary story of an Officer and her daughter killed by her own son.

A veteran San Diego police detective was stabbed to death in her Rancho Peñasquitos home early Monday, and responding officers found her son sitting calmly outside as his naked teenage sister was dying from stab wounds on the sidewalk nearby.

The son, Brian Rockwell Williams, 24, was arrested without incident and booked into jail on suspicion of two counts of murder, San Diego police homicide Capt. Jim Collins said.

Note that in San Diego generally the Police or those who are connected can carry guns. Still no matter what you have if you killer lives under your roof. Of course this is also a multiple murder that isn’t a “Gun Death”. Still I think this is the most telling detail:

A large kitchen knife, believed to be the weapon used, was found on the front lawn, Collins said.

Who doesn’t have a large carving or chef knife at home? I imagine that’s most. There might be a few houses that only have paring knives or maybe the odd mis-matched steak knife, but if you know your way around the kitchen, or have a family you probably have a bunch of kitchen knives, and maybe one giant knife if anything for just chopping a watermelon in summer.

Now let’s expand that even further down the anti-freedom fear-hole. How many houses have guns in them? Handguns? So-called “Assault Rifles”?

How many houses have gruesome multiple murders? The idea that guns cause crime or even “Gun Crime” is as foolish as the thought that playing violent video games, or watching violent films…or to hop in the way-back machine, Dungeons and Dragons, cause violence crimes. Really when you look at all the homes that have deadly weapons in them capable of mass murder, you quickly can see that tools really aren’t a limiting reagent.

Now look at homes that have severely mentally ill people, or people with a history of violent crime. Hmmm now that seems to make some sense.

Carry Your Damn Guns!

So I’ve been reading a bit on the massacre in Norway. I’m not going to hash into too much because #1. I don’t have a lot of details, and frankly #2 I really don’t care. Call be cold, but frankly the people of Norway made their bed here.

It seems the bulk of the deaths was some nutburger disguised himself as a police man, went to a crowded swimming area with a bunch of guns, and just started spraying fire into the crowds.

One thing comes to my mind. Fish in a Barrel. It took close to an hour before the Police arrived by one account I’ve read. People were running, swimming, and hiding from this guy. And a huge number of them died or were wounded.

Why? Nobody fought back. Guess what, if some nutball starts shooting YOU ARE NOW DEAD. What are you going to do before you die? You gonna try to hide under your desk and pray, or are you going to tempt fate and try to kill the attacker first.

Of course this is much better if you have a knife, club, or a gun of your own. We all know what I prefer.

Still this case, and the Mumbai attack, not to mention all the street crime in places like Chicago, New York, and LA that more-or-less ban gun ownership, show that all the gun control in the world isn’t going to stop evil people from getting guns. But what gun control DOES do is when that jerk DOES sneak under the radar, they will be a GOD able to chose who lives and who dies for whatever time it takes for the Police to arrive.

Carry your damn guns! You just might save a life other than your own, and certainly the tendency of freaks to pick gun-free zones for their attacks, carrying your gun may indeed get a few creeps to think that maybe their master plan is a REALLY shitty idea.

“Gun Death” WOW!

This one is just Grisly! I thought shit like this only happened in movies!

Michael Raper, a 26-year-old employee of meat processing company Bar S, died this week after falling into a meat grinder.

There’s a video on the news page. According to the story the man fell into the grinder feet-first and lost both legs, and died a day later.

My god! What a horrible way to go! But not a “Gun Death”, right?

Accent Interest

Found this video from a google wander from The Kennedys Mini-Series.

What’s interesting is they sound a LOT like my Great Grandparents from Bridgton Maine, who were children of Immigrants, and hardly gentrified at all. Just common working people living in the woods of Maine.

Neat stuff!

Big Suprise

Amy Winehouse Dead. No cause of death listed yet, but I’ll give you two guesses and the first one doesn’t count.

I must say, the songs I heard of hers (in the studio where they could keep her from being twisted out of her mind on whatever shit she wanted to pack into her once-pretty now hideous body) were quite amazing. Also neat to hear a Brit sing soul music.

Still it seems her entire public life has been a battle with the junk, with little concern for cleaning up, so this appears to have been Amy’s plan all along.

Interesting note she was 27, which adds her name to the mythological “27 Club”

Too bad, but its their talent, who am I to say they can’t waste it?

Interesting Series

I saw that The Kennedy’s Miniseries on netflix instant watch. I link the wikipedia page just because it has a lot of information in the associated with the pre-production.

Still my take (and granted I’ll add I’m hardly a Kennedy Historian, but as a Prisoner of Massachusetts you can’t help but glean a whole ton of stuff) it was pretty accurate, and while it did a great job at portraying the family in a flattering light, it also does a good job at showing the problems of the family. Certainly Old Joe Kennedy’s greed, ambition, and impulsive response to throw money at any problem. Also his ability to cheat and conduct illegal acts. Of course Jack’s insatiable lust to nail women who aren’t his wife, also you can see Jack and Bobby’s inexperience and motivation to please their Dad.

Also I was surprised to see a bunch of the series devoted to Rosemary Kennedy, who was really the Kennedy family’s dirty little secret.

Still it was VERY eerie to see NO mention at all about about Senator Edward “Fat Teddy” Kennedy, which struck me as VERY strange. Granted Joe Jr is remembered as the “Perfect” Kennedy who died before his time, Jack as the swaggering Cocksmith, RFK as the idealist, and very few will argue that Teddy isn’t best remembered as the runt of the litter. Possibly it would have been too hard to portray a young Teddy as anything but a playboy drunk tagging along with his vastly more talented brothers, and given that the Senator hasn’t been dead for very long at all, maybe he was erased from history for respectful reasons.

Still the series is about Old Joe’s ambition and elevation of his family through his sons, we can see the nepotism and monolith of Power of having Jack and Bobby both in the Whitehouse, while Teddy simply grabbed Jack’s senate seat as he ascended to power (a seat he only abdicated at the time of his death) there were a LOT of Kennedys in national power, and that is lost to people simply viewing the series.

Its on netflix instant watch, so its worth a look-at. Also I’ll point out that the Makeup and wardrobe is AMAZING! The actors all look so much like their real-life counterparts. So much that there is one scene where Barry Pepper as RFK is standing in front of a Campaign posters emblazoned with a photo of the REAL Robert Kennedy, and it really doesn’t seem out-of-place.

Very cool.

“Gun Death” Gruesome One

There’s no way to soften this blow, so just brace for impact.

The LaSalle County Sheriff Tom Templeton says a preliminary investigation determined the deaths of a woman and two children was a murder-suicide. The bodies of the three were discovered Thursday by firefighters in a bedroom of a burned home located in a rural area between Streator and Grand Ridge in central Illinois….Authorities say autopsies conducted Friday determined each victim sustained stab or cutting wounds. A weapon was recovered at the scene.

What kind of a sick woman does this to her kids? I’m glad she’s dead, but sad her kids went with her.

Of course sick people doing sick things is often used as a reason to strip the rights from innocent people. Of course that only counts for “Gun Death”, these horrific deaths are not useful so they will be ignored.

“Gun Death” Domestic Stabbing

There is a certain domestic abuse advocate that will remain nameless (but she has Brady Campaign Stationary) who says domestic violence most often involves guns, and is ALWAYS done by the man. She knows what she’s talking about!

A 30-year-old man was stabbed to death early Friday after he allegedly kicked in the door of his girlfriend’s home at 809 Harvard Blvd. and assaulted her, police said.

Looks like self defense. In the certain advocate’s defense, this isn’t a “Gun Death” so I guess it doesn’t count. Still if she had used a gun to defend her life, it WOULD have been counted as “Gun Death” and used to take guns away from other women looking to protect themselves.

Classy aren’t they?
