“Gun Death” Blinds

People say we need more regulations on guns so they are safe as any other consumer product.

An 18-month-old boy was strangled Friday at his home by cords dangling from Venetian blinds that became entangled around his neck, Police Chief Tim O’Neill said Monday.

After a weekend autopsy on Braiden M. Ostrowski, the death was ruled as accidental strangulation, O’Neill said.

Want to point me to the stories of toddlers getting shot by faulty guns? Those who use “Gun Death” as a metric are dishonest and illogical people.

April Fools!

You know who the April Fools are? The Fools in the North East getting their asses snowed on!

I’m wearing shorts and a T-shirt and I’m pleasently warm, boarding on HOT! FEELS SOOOO GOOD!

I’m not doing a prank post today because I have better things to do, also I don’t have any good ideas. I also didn’t do a “Gun Death” post for today because they’re crazy stories that involve people’s deaths, I don’t want people to think I’m fooling.

All remember the Boycott that started today! And here is a Picture of some ducks I took while out for a walk this morning:

And Vector getting his head eaten by a blood-thirsty Baby!

My Hog Is Safe

Just touched down in Florida, waiting to get off the plane.

Just so happened they opened a second security line without the backscatter scanner.

I was in the perv line, and I switched.

Don’t touch my junk!

Quote of the Day: Hand-Tip

The boycott is going to KILL me, but I shall be resolute! Look at this gem:

If you had your way, would even the type of firearm Hinkley used be unavailable to the average gun owner?

-Anon

Anon-No

-Joan Peterson

Hinkley used a 6 shot .22 LR revolver. You’ll note that the group Joan Works for is formally called Handgun Control Inc. It was a group created in the 70s with the expressed purpose to ban all handguns in America. That goal still exists.

Now here’s the kicker. If a 6-shot rimfire revolver is far too dangerous for civilians to own, why would they be OK with repeating centerfire rifles and shotguns?

What about repeating .22 Rifles?

If there is no logic in their first claim, you can’t expect them to act more rational by ceding ANY ground to them.

*update* I may have been a bit confused in the exchange. Maybe she thinks its OK to own a .22 revolver. But try to get her to clarify her position and the truth is clear.

“Gun Death” Re-Run

Go re-read yesterday’s “Gun Death” story. OK now here’s today’s

Investigators learned Marti-Guillen had been in an argument with a man in the parking lot prior to being beaten.

I had to re-read the first story just to make sure I hadn’t simply picked up a different paper’s account of the same crime. There is an epidemic of beating deaths, we need Common Sense hands-and-feet laws! Why do people have hands and feet? You can’t hunt with them!

Making Shit Up

So somebody over at Joan Peterson’s blog decided to derail the conversation a bit and talk about this peculiar story. Short summary, guy writes local paper and claims to be a Gunsmith, Army Officer, NRA member, and overall big-time gunny. Then essentially copy-pastes their talking points using their specific made-up terms. Any attempts to find out if this guy is who he says he is lead to nothing, and he certainly doesn’t have an FFL to his name, which all professional gunsmiths must have.

Now I say “Derail” but Joan allows that comment, so she must want to talk about it…and she mentions she has a friend who is a gunsmith who doesn’t have and FFL. She later makes a correction.

As it turns out, my friend is really a gun maker dealing in Muzzleloaders rather than a gun smith. So he does not need a FFL to operate….This man meets people who buy his guns at one of the local gun shops for a background check.

First up I have a very good idea who this muzzleloader maker is, and he a Fudd to the extremist of extreme, he makes Muzzleloaders, and damn that’s all there needs to be, because the only reason to own a gun is to hunt. We all know Washington Crossed the Delaware river so he could get to his duck blind before dawn. High-Capacity Magazines? Why would you even NEED a magazine?

But also his guns aren’t guns…at least in the legal sense. Felons and mentally ill can legally buy his guns. He can’t sell them with an FFL if he had one because there is no “F”, even if he made 100 black powder rifles a year and sold every one of them, the ATF would deny him an application for an FFL because he doesn’t have any firearms to sell.

Furthermore, without any firearm can a 3rd party FFL run a background check like Joan claims? I don’t see how. So again, Joan Peterson is making shit up.

Oh and FYI this guy who makes things that aren’t guns, is likely Joan’s “Gun Owners who want more gun control”.

Pretty classy huh? Its going to be REALLY hard to stop reading Joan’s blog for a week during the boycott, she has such deliciously ironic stupidity!

“Gun Death” Somebody You Know

Those who use the metric “Gun Death” often use the discredited study that claims you are a jillion billion more times likely to kill somebody you know if you own a gun. Maybe we should ban guns?

San Jose police have arrested a man they suspect of beating a 35-year-old felon so badly during an argument that he died a week later….Police said that the victim and Wafer knew each other. The two had an argument, which escalated into violence.

The story is a bit vague, but it sounds like no weapons were used. So an argument escalated to a beating death with nothing but hands and feet? Why do some single out “Gun Death” as a meaningful metric again?

Tricks and Traps

I see a lot of this from the Anti-Freedom types:

Alcade- please don’t keep answering that question. It is a trick question designed to ‘get me” so I will not be answering it. It is impossible to answer anyway which is why you asked it. I don’t know why you want an answer to such an esoteric question.

Now I’m not picking on Joan Peterson, as her behavior is part of ALL the gun control activists. Most simply don’t allow comments, or questions on their blogs, and certainly make all attempts to avoid opposition in public. Joan, to her credit is the best of her treacherous ilk, as she does allow SOME comments, and occasionally will make statements that are designed to sound like she’s answering questions.

As you’ve seen from countless posts here they are abject liars. To them the truth is the enemy, so they must do everything in their power to obscure the truth (this is why even tho Joan allows comments, about 60% never see the light of day)

The question asked that invoked the above quote? “At what point would you say “Yes, your rights are being infringed.”? ” That’s it. That’s a simple question, and she calls it a trick?? Other “Trick Questions”

“What is the functional difference between an ‘Assault Weapon’ and its ban-compliant variant?”

“Why is the line drawn at 10 rounds?” See also 18″ shotgun barrels, or 16″ rifle barrels, see also the Numbers Game

“What is ‘Armor Piercing Ammunition?”

“Can you recommend a firearms safety class for me or my friends?”

and here’s a big one that is an ideal litmus test for an anti-rights goon. They will ALL Balk at this one, 100%.

“What type of gun or guns do you think are OK for Americans to own and won’t need further restriction?”

They hate all guns, and any person who isn’t opposed to owning guns. They know the time for their Utopia is not yet here, so they must start small…but there isn’t a gun they won’t ban. Not your Mossberg 500 Duck gun, not your Winchester M70 Deer rifle, not your Antique S&W top-break revolver, not the M1911 that your Great Grandfather carried in the Trenches of France and brought home to pass down to his heirs, not the replica Brown Bess Flint-lock you use in war renactments, not your .22 Olympic biathlon rifle.

They hate all guns, but they know they can’t say that. So asking them questions of the sort is a trap.

I’ll end with this great quote from Robb

Funny as that is, we don’t see that. I don’t see many posts, opinion pieces, or articles that start off with “I’m a gun banner but…”, do you? I think the reason is because gun owners know they’re right and don’t need to hide behind the identity of someone else to try to con others into believing them. The truth tends to be self evident and we do not need to appeal to authority to make it so.

Gun banners? They do. They know their brand stinks, so they coopt an identity in order to peddle their wares, hoping that being sold lies by a ‘gun owner’ is more palatable to people.

Its true, gun banners don’t even want to be CALLED gun banners…even when they’re banning guns! Seriously, try calling Joan Peterson a “Gun Banner” after she states a need to ban “Assault Weapons” or “Military Style Weapons”. No she’s not a gun banner, she just wants to ban guns.

TSA Blues

I gotta say I’m not a happy camper right now. I’m going down to Florida for a long weekend. I’m excited about warm weather, seeing family, and also getting a chance to meet with some bloggers.

What is really taking the wind out of my sails is GETTING THERE. I’m not looking forward to complying with the totally stupid firearm rules. (BTW does this mean I have to toss my ammo in an factory ammo box into a carry-on bag? I just assumed I’d lock it in the gun case, but this page says I can’t? Seriously what bullshit, and its not making me feel good.

Of course I haven’t flown since the perv patrol became the standard MO. I will not submit to the back-scatter machine, they accomplish nothing, and are for the comfort of the goons not me.

Sorry, this just isn’t my fucking America. Also how stupid is it that I carry on the highway, I carry on busses, I carry on trains, I carry in parks, I carry in bars, I carry at the movies, I carry at the store…all perfectly legal, and all with a very uninteresting body count (ZERO)…I can carry in the vast majority of the United States, I can carry in Massachusetts, and I can carry in Florida….but for me to get on an airplane with a .38 in my pocket I am suddenly terror on the high seas?

Grow the fuck up! *grumble*

If you got a comment, even a stupid one, toss it in. I want chatter.
