The Week of Cursed Podcasts.

So this week we got an announcements that Gun Nuts Radio is Going on Hiatus, and if I were a betting man, I suspect Caleb will be doing something else with his time come the November 3rd Re-evaluation period. Caleb has been immensely successful in the Gun Blog and shooting sports world, but I will say that Gun Nuts Radio is one of his mediums that has totally lost me, and I know I’m not alone.

Then Breda got scheduled to work on the very night her show was airing so B-B&Guns wasn’t aired.

Last Night the usual suspects, and yours truly got together for about a 3 hour Vicious Circle only to find out that a software error that the recording never happened, so the show is lost into the Ether!

Well if you really need a VC, tune into #46 which is my favorite show, personally.

Also Michael Bane did a great show this week (I listened to that one on my commute to and from work today) and for non-gunnie podcast, I’m a HUGE fan of Dan Savage’s Podcast.

So there you go, hope you guys can survive!

Creepy Case

Bob Sent me this story

Authorities in Bahrain arrested a suspect Tuesday in the case of a Canadian singer whose body was found stuffed inside a suitcase at London’s Heathrow Airport in 1999, according to London’s Scotland Yard.

The force said that Youssef Ahmed Wahid was arrested in the Gulf state in what it described as a planned operation and his extradition was pending.

The body of 28-year-old Fatima Kama was found when a member of the public spotted a black suitcase abandoned on the third floor of a Heathrow Airport parking lot July 17, 1999. A security guard forced the bag open to find her in the fetal position. A post-mortem revealed she’d been stabbed more than 10 times.

Creepy story, also on an odd note I had somebody show up at my blog from Bahrain a while back.

Seems the suspected killer has lived in many nations, all of which have very strict gun control, and England where the murder was committed also has very strong knife laws. Didn’t seem to stop the murder. It does count as a “Knife Death”, but nit a “Gun Death”.

Come and Bash Me!

A Quote of the Day goes to Mike W.

I think the sole reason we don’t often see pro-gun folks being violently attacked by virtulently anti-gun bigots is because their would-be victims are armed. You don’t hear of PinkPistols members being gay-bashed either. I believe many of them would commit violence against us (or have someone else do so) if the opportunity presented itself and we didn’t have the means to fight back.

There are a million jokes about people having sex with sheep and pigs. And there was this little “Brothel” in Washington.

But you don’t hear much about people having sexual congress with Lions, Bears, or Tigers. Hell Zappa Chronicled a story of sexual congress with a Mud Shark but you won’t hear such things with a Bull Shark, or a Tiger Shark, or a Great White.

Why? Because such things won’t stand for abuse and has the power to say “No” in their own universal language.

Gun owners are like that. People WANT to do horrible unthinkable things to us, and often they aren’t even secretive about it!, hell Some are so lazy they want you to do the deed yourself!

But they don’t act on their fantasies, while other hate groups do. Why not? Because we have the power to universally say “No” by returning force to those who wish harm upon us.

“One bleeding-heart type asked me in a recent interview if I did not agree that ‘violence begets violence.’ I told him that it is my earnest endeavor to see that it does. I would like very much to ensure—and in some cases I have—that any man who offers violence to his fellow citizen begets a whole lot more in return than he can enjoy.” -Col Jeff Cooper

Think you can ban Guns?

Oleg Posts pictures of a very interesting SMG

First thought: “What a Piece of Shit!”, Second thought: “I bet it’s easy as hell to build those by the railroad car!”

Of course the old adage is true, ban guns, and people will just tuck carbines and pistols between the packs of Cocaine and Heroin. If somehow we can get hundreds of pounds of plant-derived drugs (from plants that don’t grow on this CONTINENT) into this country, why would tossing a few guns and a few cases of ammo into the mix be that much harder? And of course Criminals like John Dillinger, and the more modern Mexican Drug Cartels got their firepower from the Police and Military.

But even all that being said, actually BUILDING guns isn’t all that hard. Springs, sears, and receivers are damn simple to make, and people have been making rifled gun barrels for hundreds of years using nothing more than black smithing tools.

Long and short, attempting gun bans is like building an Ornithopter!

Bigotry: I Support the Rights I Use!

So Breda links to this picture. In it a young woman with short hair (I won’t judge, but I think we should make note of it) is holding a sign lamenting that “Its Sad as a Culture we are more comfortable with two men holding guns than Holding hands”.

The fallout was pretty predictable. Breda said: “…no one will ever call the cops on you if you walk down the street holding hands with your boyfriend.”

I related this story (Not 100% on the details, if somebody can correct me please do in the comments): “there is a famous case here where a man’s coat was blown by the wind as he walked down the street. The only person to see his firearm was a cop walking a beat. The man’s permit was requested and produced, and the day went on. When his permit was up for renewal he was refused for “bad Judgement”, and he needed to get rid of all his guns (remember Massachusetts permits are to OWN GUNS!)

He did later spend several thousand dollars and many days in court to get his permit back (IIRC he still cannot legally carry concealed, but he was able to keep his guns)

Final note, at no point was this man charged with a crime, as he had committed none.”

Tam Chimed in with this: “I wonder when was the last time the person in this photograph got gunned down by the cops in a Las Vegas Costco for the crime of holding hands?”

Now to be totally clear I think there is problems on BOTH sides of this issue, and frankly I’m amazed at what a rift between the Gay Rights and Gun Rights Crowds there is. (Thankfully that is Not 100% True) Discrimination and denial of rights should not make a difference to anybody, its ALL wrong. That of course isn’t the case today. You have this woman who is concerned about gay rights and is perfectly willing to toss gun-rights under the bus to further her agenda. We also have the very real allegations of Racism that are coming out of the Obama Administration (Trinity United Church of Christ, and The New Black Panther Party are the two larger controversies) Seems that some people are claiming certain discriminations are preferable to others. To further conflate the tin ear of people a woman calling herself Lydia said the following:

You’re right, they won’t call the cops if I walk down the street holding hands. Instead I fear being beaten and raped so the narrow minded can “make a woman out of me”.

You have the 2nd Amendment. I have decades of legal hurdles before I can ever be seen as equal under the law.

In too many states I can be fired for being gay. I can be denied housing for being gay. In Alaska discrimination against me solely for being gay is still completely legal.

When we have equal rights, then we can talk about the annoyance of being arrested.

I have no idea if Lydia is the woman in the photograph, but she is claiming to be gay. Still first up I will note that she is legally protected from rape and assault, no matter the reason of the assault. I will note that in most cases a person lawfully carrying a gun being proned out on the sidewalk and having their property confiscated often has no recourse, nor does somebody who is detained while lawfully carrying in a state that does not require a permit (It could be said that a permit may be requested in a state where it is necessary to open carry) I will also note that the Police Chief in my story was not charged or otherwise punished for his actions, nor were his actions illegal.

Also all of her mentioned discriminations may happen to gun owners as well. When I rented I was always concerned that my landlord might refuse to renew my lease because a gun owner lived on their property. I do not share with coworkers that I carry while at work out of fear that company policies might be amended, or actions might be taken against me. As a tax payer and a citizen I consider myself a part-owner of places like the US Post Office, and I am disgusted that I could be arrested for carrying within said building, despite it being 100% legal for me to carry on the sidewalk outside said building. So the “When we have equal rights, then we can talk about the annoyance of being arrested.” strikes me as a statement of concern for ONLY the rights she is currently concerned with. DISGUSTING! I’ll end with a poem:

They came first for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.

Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

The most ironic thing is if Lydia was being assaulted (be they gay bashers or otherwise…it doesn’t matter to me, “Hate Crime” is as just a foolish metric as “Gun Death”) I would absolutely see it cause to draw my firearm, and potentially use it.

Did you Get the Memo?

In reading some political stories I found this monstrosity.

Goofy loaded questionnaires are just foolish. (Of course we know they’re just there to gin up people to send money) still I clicked over to it on this banner:

Seriously, goofball, has Obama done ANYTHING but CLAIM to support Gay rights, let alone give a hint that he has a “Homosexual Agenda”?

Dumbass!

OMG FUN!

This Game RULES! Hit a Geek in a home-run derby in some super testosterone fueled fantasy world!

There was a similar Anime Inspired game like this, but I don’t think it was as engaging.

Another Gut-Wrencher

Bob poops in my Cheerios with This horrible story

A South Carolina mother is accused of suffocating her two small children in the room, then strapping them into their car seats and driving the vehicle to a boat ramp, letting it roll into a river.

I wish mom-kills-kids was an uncommon story, but it isn’t. Still what can the anti-freedom jerks work on? They own cars, so they won’t mess with them, same with pillows. Maybe they’ll ban boat ramps? No matter what they can’t admit that some people are just monsters and tools are irrelevant, because then all that gun control nonsense they always preach would suddenly become moot.
