Monique Lynch, 29, the girlfriend of the girl’s father, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder.
Lynch and Hanif Sims, 29, the girl’s father, were also charged with child abuse resulting in death, concealing a body and tampering with evidence.
Disgusting case, but you’ll note nobody used a gun. Another case that is seen as a victory by our friendly anti-freedom advocates.
Thanks to all who keep sending me “Gun Death?” stories. I’ve actually become overwhelmed with them. I didn’t want to forget any, nor did I want to pile them together to belittle each individual case, so instead I posted them all individually and syndicated them thanks to the wonders of blogging software.
Expect a new “Gun Death?” story every morning at 0500 hours every day for the next week. And of course keep sending me stories, I’ll post the ones I see, but more eyes are always more efficient.
Also remember why I do this. Whenever somebody attempts to argue in favor of gun control and thinks “Gun Death” or “Gun Violence” are valid terms, send them this way I take no joys in repeating brutal crimes, but if this helps save our freedom and knock some sense into people then its worth it.

Caleb has a Great post up on “Shooting To Kill” and thinks the term “Shoot To Kill” shouldn’t be used by gunnies. I 100% agree, and in the comments shared 4 Scenarios I’ve used as debating tools on this very issue.
#1. I get attacked by a crazed dude hopped-up on goofballs who has a framing hammer, and thinks my head looks like a nail. I draw my gun and put a few shots into his COM and he falls to the ground and dies before authorities arrive.
#2. I get attacked by a crazed dude hopped-up on goofballs who has a framing hammer, and thinks my head looks like a nail. I draw my carry gun and he sobers up and runs away.
#3. I get attacked by a crazed dude hopped-up on goofballs who has a framing hammer, and thinks my head looks like a nail. I draw my carry gun and put a few shots into his COM, he falls, but is resuscitated by EMTs and goes on to live.
#4. I get attacked by a crazed dude hopped-up on goofballs who has a framing hammer, and thinks my head looks like a nail. I draw my carry gun and put a few shots into his COM. He then beats me to death and makes it half-way around the block before he bleeds out and dies.
So 4 Scenarios, half of them result in the attacker being killed, half where he lives. 1-3 are successful stories in just about everybody’s book, as you get to go home to your bed after all the mess is cleaned up. #4 you “Shot to Kill” and joined your killer in the Morgue. That’s a failure, despite a “clean kill”.
So yes indeed, I ONLY shoot to stop, NEVER to kill, because if my attacker lives or dies is of little importance to me, and not the reason why I carry, I carry because I just want to go home at the end of the day.
Again, thanks so much for everybody who is collecting stories for the “Gun Death?” category. I’ve gotten a bit of a backlog now, so I think I’ll make it a point to throw one up every day this week, that way each story gets its own entry. This one comes to us from Patrick
A woman in Dayton meets a guy and starts to walk with him when he decides to start Hitting her in the head with a hammer Sounds like she got close to bleeding to death, and wasn’t helped much by local people who didn’t want anything to do with the matter. Thankfully she managed to get to the hospital where she was given first aid and then airlifted to another hospital. Sounds like she’ll be OK, so this is more a “Gun Violence?” story, than a “Gun Death?” thankfully. But I think we can all agree this story is MUCH better than one where somebody used a firearm to threaten or injure an innocent person. So good on Captain Hammer for keeping “Gun Violence” to a minimum in Ohio!

Me getting ready to fire the 57mm Recoilless Rifle. The thing was HEAVY and wobbled like hell because of the leverage on either side. Out of respect for out hosts and owner Wally’s pocket book the round fired was actually a .30-06 cartridge out of an adapter. It indeed was recoilless, but the back-blast was still very impressive despite the comparatively diminutive .30-06 round. Also because such a small bullet was flying down such a huge barrel it struck a harmonic and the whole tube hummed for a few seconds after the shot was fired.
The funniest thing is when Wally said he was shopping for 57mm ammo, I thought he meant 5.7mm
Tho there was a FNH FiveSeveN and I won’t lie, as much as I wanted to think it was a hinkey plastic gun with an oddball and expensive cartridge, it was a wicked hoot to shoot. Accurate, light, low-recoil, a decent trigger, and LOTS of capacity.
That being said, if our Gun Roster gets lifted, I think I’d opt for one of these instead.
Somebody needs to put down the pipe himself. Handing out free crackpipes to stop the spread of AIDs?
Reality Challenged….
Since this will be my take on several other blog posts this will be a bit of a link-farm, but also I think it will illustrate my point very well.
First I’ll start with a quote cited by Joe, Quoting Alan Gura

Now I see value in Threepers, so I won’t 100% associate with them, but I’ve also expressed some of my issues with Threepers on the other blog, so I understood what Alan ment when he said the above statement.
Next up I’ll jump us forward to this year’s blogger shoot. Because I have this nifty blog with a nice little photo gallery program I thought I’d pack my Camera, despite bringing it the first year and only taking a handful of snaps, and the second year I left the camera at home, and didn’t miss it.
I brought my Camera, and I left it safe in its case in Jay’s truck for the entire day. I even THOUGHT about getting it, but I never did. To Quote Zercool

I’m laughing my ass off because I’m shooting an itty-bitty pump shotgun, and, I was shooting buckshot and slugs out of it. Its wildly impracticable, hard to use, but surprisingly pleasant to shoot thanks to that grip.
Its really an answer looking for a question…and the question is “What’s gonna kick over my giggle-box and scatter the contents across the tri-state area?”
Now to tie this all together, I was standing beside Joe when he asked Alan Gura that question at a get-together organized by Breda, Jay and I had driven down there together, and Jay organized the Blogger Shoot. Lissa was there filming away.
Shooting IS fun, not only as an activity and hobby you can do on your own, but something you can do as a group. And like most hobbies people into one hobby of pastime can often share interests. Through shooting and blogging I have met some amazing people and made some good friends, and had some amazing times.
On VC #62 Jay mentions my car shoot I held a few years ago. Essentially I had a car in Maine that I had bought for pennies because it wouldn’t run, couldn’t be fixed for any reasonable price, and my friend wanted it gone from his driveway. I had a bunch of guns, and I wanted to shoot the car. There’s my problem, but I couldn’t do it alone. So I called up a few friends, they called some friends, and next thing I know I had about 20 guys (with money in hand to offset costs) guns, a truck, a trailer, and lots of tools to prep the car for a safe and fun shoot. End result?
More smiles!
Compare that with The Other Side there really isn’t any comparison!
So thank you Mr. Gura for all your hard work on behalf of human rights in America, I’m doing my part, and my friends certainly are too!
