Friday Reminder

Light a Candle and show how you can prevent violence on January 8th.

Doesn’t have to be Guns (The knife is my CRKT Ultima) and the 5″ 1911 in my home defense gun. I have carried it concealed, but I generally don’t.

And of course there’s Eleanor Riding in her nice Nemesis Pocket Holster.

I’ve already gotten several great submissions that I’ll be posting on the 8th as well as my photo for the day. Email to weerdbeard AT gmail DOT com. Also if any of you chill on various gun forums, spread the word. I don’t often post at my old stomping grounds of Northeast Shooters, and I’ve never been members of places like AR15.com, the High Road, or We The Armed, as well as countless other awesome forums. I know there are several that have already started threads. Start threads for the 8th on your forums too!

Remember lighting a candle only gives off a meager amount of light, but a lawfully carried gun can do wonders to prevent violence.

Be safe out there, and carry your guns!

“Gun Death” Restraining Order

A Man walks right through a restraining order and stabs his wife to death.

Restraining orders do prevent the subject from owning or buying firearms, which can be trusted about as far as the order for the subject to keep their distance…in this case the firearm restriction worked, but the protection order didn’t.

Is a victim of “Knife Death” any less dead than a victim of “Gun Death?”

Of course if you’re a victim of domestic violence, stalking, or threats first GET AWAY, second get a Restraining order, and third get a gun and carry it always!

Now I won’t advise anybody to carry a gun where it is illegal…but if my choice was to disarm with somebody who had made direct threats against me around, or carry illegally…well I’d have a choice to make.

If Guns Were As Illegal As Drugs…

I found this story through the antis, but I think it tells a different tale.

One officer was killed and five other drug task force members and a suspect were wounded in a gunfight Wednesday evening during a raid in an Ogden neighborhood, authorities said….Ogden police said in a statement early Thursday that the agent who died from his wounds was Jared Francom, a seven-year veteran who is survived by his wife and two young children. Five others officers from multiple agencies remained hospitalized with serious to critical injuries. No more information on their conditions was released.

The sole suspect in the drug-related shooting was at a local hospital under guard, with non-life threatening injuries.

No other names have been released.

Drugs are illegal, so people break the law getting, growing, and making drugs. It wouldn’t surprise me if this guy has a criminal record that precludes him from owning guns…so he broke the law getting guns.

Data is very lean on this case, it might be a totally fraudulent raid or it could be a drug dealer running contraband.

Either way its a clear display of how poorly prohibitions work, and how much violence must be created to enforce it.

DGU Violent Ex

Ex Boyfriend breaks in and regrets it.

BEDFORD, Ohio — A Bedford woman told police she shot an ex-boyfriend in the face this morning when the man broke into her home…The shooter later told police she heard glass breaking and looked down from the top of the stairs to see her ex-boyfriend approaching.

She said she told him to stop, but he did not. She said she fired one shot at him and he fell.

The incident is under investigation. No charges have been filed.

That’s one of those things you just don’t do. BTW follow the link to listen to the 911 call.

Heros and Villians

I’m Glad to read this

The Kroger employee who shot and killed a robbery suspect last month will not face any charges, the Marion County prosecutor said Wednesday.

Prosecutor Terry Curry says he’s reviewed the case involving Elijah Elliott and has determined there is no basis for any charges to be filed against him.

I also like that Kroger still hasn’t fired the man, despite his violation of their short-sighted anti-gun policy.

According to witnesses and surveillance footage, Atkinson walked up behind an unarmed security guard and stuck an object in her back, ordering her into the back office. As the two walked towards the office, a second Kroger employee was leaving the office and saw Atkinson holding the security guard in a headlock. Atkinson was wearing a mask.

The second employee told police that Atkinson grabbed her a choke hold and had her up against a wall. That employee yelled for Elliott. When Elliott responded, Atkinson let go of the woman and charged at Elliott, who shot Atkinson.

The Marion County prosecutor says under Indiana law, the shooting was justified to prevent the commission of a forcible felony (robbery and criminal confinement) and based upon Indiana law pertaining to self-defense and defense of others.

And now the departed:

At the time of the attempted robbery offense, Jeremy Atkinson had an outstanding warrant out of Marion Criminal Court 1. In that case, Atkinson was charged with Robbery, as a Class B felony, as well as multiple counts of criminal confinement. He received a six-year executed sentence on that case and had been released to community corrections. He violated community corrections, and on February 24, 2011 a warrant was issued for his arrest. That warrant was outstanding at the time of this incident.

This is a VERY clear cut defensive shooting in my eyes. A known violent criminal, committing a violent act with something he was passing off as a weapon, as well choking a woman and charging at the man who shot him.

Of course our opponents choose to see it differently.

Well the new year has started out where the old year ended. It all started with this article about the shooting at an Indiana Kroger’s food store. A store manager shot and killed an “armed” robber. Now mind you, this robber was no nice guy. He had several previous offenses and he was clearly a felon. Did he have a gun? Did he intend bodily harm? Was the clerk in immanent danger? Should the manager have been allowed to have his gun at work in violation of Indiana law? Should the manager, a gun permit holder, have shot the robber point blank? Could the robber have just taken the money and run as is the case in many armed robberies? How should employees react to such incidents? Do employers want guns in the work place? If not, who does? Is it a good idea for employees to be armed at work? Opinions vary.

Certainly the antis would prefer the criminal to live and the innocent to die.

Who’s side are YOU on?

DGU In the Belly of the Beast

Just read this report of a Defensive Gun Use in in California.

The Twin Cities Police Department said Leone was held at gunpoint while Cutrufelli searched the home for valuables.

But at some point, Leone managed to get his gun.

In the resulting gun battle, Leone was shot in the face, and Cutrufelli was shot three times.

Police arrested Cutrufelli after he fled the house and called 911, saying he had shot himself. He is being held on suspicion of attempted murder and burglary.

Both men were listed in stable condition.

This took place in Marin County, so I looked that up.

Marin County has 56 residents who are licensed to carry concealed weapons into movie theaters, restaurants and just about anywhere else, short of a courtroom. That breaks down roughly to a license for only 1 out of every 4,410 residents.

This shows how gun control laws work. The criminals have their guns and use them, and don’t fear retaliation. The strict laws did NOTHING to stop this. Thankfully this man repelled the criminals and is in stable condition.

For case like this, this is why I carry at home. I get up, I get dressed, and the gun goes on. I don’t look for a reason because If I could FIND the reason to carry I’d have a better plan, like alerting the police before he got to my house, or before the attacker mugged anybody on the street.

Such conjecture is fantasy, so always be prepared for bad things, so you can enjoy life knowing you have a backup plan if things ever get ugly.

“Gun Death” Ninja

What we need is common sense Ninja control!

The mother of an 18-year-old Murrieta woman who was fatally stabbed by a man dressed as a ninja said her daughter died “screaming for us to help her.”

Police said the suspect, 19-year-old William Gary Simpson Jr., entered a home just before 4 a.m. Tuesday in the 40000 block of Milkwood Lane in Murrieta. He went upstairs and fatally stabbed Saskia Burke, 18, police said. Her father and boyfriend tried to help her, but were also stabbed, police said.

What we need is laws that limit the importation of these deadly Assassins from Japan! That makes as much sense as concentrating on “Gun Death” as if its a valid thing.

Gun Banners are Idiots

No other way to explain it.

You are at high risk if people are allowed to carry guns everywhere you & your loved ones go.

Already, 49 states allow concealed guns, and 43 allow open carry. Laws are expanding unchecked, the NRA’s goal.

So you’re safest in places like Chicago, South Central LA, Harlem, Mattapan Boston, DC, and Virginia Tech, vs. places where carry is allows. That explains the bloodbath here where a bunch of people got together carrying guns and eating steak. See also here next weekend.

You won’t read about that on the news because the antis are 100% full of shit, and don’t even seem to be concerned with people actually believing them.

You are most at risk when you are surrounded by armed criminals with zero fear of retaliation. That location are the so-called “Gun Free Zones” that the antis have created to help their friends out, the violent criminals.

Be safe, and carry your guns. If you can’t carry your guns you are NOT SAFE! Work to fix that!

Your First Reminder

Remember, on January 8th to light a Candle to Stop Violence

If you don’t want your face in the photo or video of a candle and a carry or defensive gun is all that’s needed. Here we have my very first carry gun, a S&W642 in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. My preferred carry reloads are a pair of Bianchi Speed Strips. While pocket carry/backup is mostly filled by Eleanor these days, I still like having a light and compact revolver to lug around.

The candle is just in a cupcake, while the Revolver is to prevent violence.

Also for the reminder, remember that images should be posted across all electronic media. Facebook, youtube, forums, everything. That being said if you don’t have a blog of your own, I’d be perfectly willing to post your picture on January 8th. Just attach it to an email to weerdbeard gmail com, and make sure to include how you’d like to be addressed online, and I’ll post it on January 8th with my own official picture!

Remember a candle gives off a meager light, but a personal firearm in the hands of a lawful citizen can save lives! Carry your guns, people!
