Good On Her!

Serious Gun links to Emily Miller’s Facebook where she finally got her SIG

Part of me is filled with Joy. She got the gun she’s been wanting for ages. Part of me is angry. I got thinking about when I bought my Beretta 21A, I bought the gun, and a pocket holster. While we were discussing the bullshit law where all guns MUST be sold with a locking device from an FFL. I reached into my pocket and pulled out one of my trigger locks I keep in my truck SPECIFICALLY when I want to buy a new gun, and don’t feel like paying extra money for a “Safety” device that provides none. Still since I had just bought a holster, and the gun didn’t come with a box I asked “Would you mind if I just carried this out?” His answer, “Sure whatever!” So I dropped the gun and holster in my pocket and I carried out my paperwork and an empty bag for the Uncle Mike’s holster.

Now I generally don’t carry a gun out of a store, that’s not my point. I’m just sad and angry that Emily currently cannot have that right.

We have a LOT more work to do!

You Don’t Say!

I think this happened to most people (OK I suspect Boys) in grade school.

“What would you rather do: Eat 100 lbs of fresh pig poop, or eat a maggot-filled dead body?” Or some such horrible dichotomy of questions.

Of course the natural answer is “Yuck I’d do neither!” of which the response is “NOOOOO You can’t do that, you have to CHOOOSE ONE!”

BTW Elections aren’t like that.

Rick Santorum may have scored a political hat trick Tuesday night, but voter turnout was down in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. That continues a trend that began in Florida and occurred again in Nevada.

Yep if all the choices are bad, sane people just stay home. I don’t blame them. I’ll be voting in for Ron Paul in the Primary just to give the other assholes the finger. I don’t know if my wife will even bother voting.

BTW this reminds me of a story a buddy of mine told me: Back when he was in the Navy he was on leave in San Diego and he was walking into a store to get a drink. There was a hobo sitting on the sidewalk and said “Hey dude, Buy me a bottle!”

My buddy responded: “Sure guy, I’m drinking Mad Dog!”

The Hobo heard this and said: “No thanks.”

Seriously, if your choices are all bad, “Do Without” is a good choice.

Carry Your Damn GUN!

Lucky is what these guys are!

A 6-year-old Texas boy is recovering after being attacked by a mountain lion while walking with his family at Big Bend National Park.

Yikes!

“It sneaked up on me,” Hobbs told the station.

Cats’ll do that. Don’t matter if they’re big or small, their gig is being sneaky.

The boy’s father, Jason Hobbs, pounced on the mountain lion as it clamped onto Rivers’ face. Hobbs ultimately stabbed the animal in the chest with a pocketknife, causing it to flee.

“The cat was clamped onto his face, I reached down and got my pocket knife out and stabbed the cat in the chest and it let go at that point,” Jason Hobbs told the station.

He’s lucky to be alive, and lucky that the pocket knife was enough to discourage Mr. Kitty. He’d be better suited if he had a pistol and switch to the knife when his gun ran dry and the kitty was still holding on.

Remember, guns are legal to carry in National Parks.

Carry yours!

Anti-Gun Bingo!

Wow, I’m just amazed at the irony of this article.

There’s really no kind or diplomatic way to put this: Gun nuts are just that, nuts.

Now don’t shoot me, please, for calling it as I see it. But after watching the local gun-control argument for the past half a century, I’ve come to the conclusion that rational, intelligent people don’t want to live in a community where everybody is armed to teeth and carries extra clips in their fanny packs.

Check your anti-rights Bingo Card! We have Insults, “Everybody armed”, and improper use of clips. Got your cards marked?

An ambush by Republican state lawmakers this week was thwarted 3-2 in a state Senate committee that had three smarter people than the two who thought it’s a perfectly marvelous idea to wonder who inside a packed, dark cinema has a loaded, 9 mm Glock G17 with the safety off tucked in their hoodie pocket or their kid’s diaper bag.

OK so check your cards again. We have “supporting the 2nd Amendment is an extremist position” in this case a “Republican Position”. (Let’s not look at how many Democrats support the 2nd Amendment or how gun control seems to be the drum only beaten by some of the most extreme “Progressive” leftists) and impossible/improbable gun situations. The whole article does a great job of making a case that he knows NOTHING about what he’s talking about but well, more on this later.

Now don’t go rolling your eyes. I’m no anti-gun freak. I grew up in a place in southeast Colorado where more folks than not have a rifle or a handgun tucked under the front seat of the truck to get that damned coyote that’s been wreaking havoc with the stock, or to quickly end the misery of the stupid sheep that broke all its legs trying to untangle itself from a broken fence. I like shooting off guns. It’s a guy thing.

Back to those cards. You can mark “I’m not Anti-gun/I’m a Gun Owner But…”, also note that guns are just for hunting, sporting, and shooting animals. Defending your life, or the life of your family members…”Just Nuts”.

Oh and you can mark your “Sexist Remark” square! You know because ladies are too delicate, fragile, and wimpy to shoot guns.

I realize that I’m OK with me carrying a little pistol in my pocket, but I am in no way OK with you carrying one.

Mark your “Rules for Thee, but not for Me” Square.

I have yet to hear a single, compelling argument from these whack jobs as to why in the sam hell they think it’s a good idea to make it super-duper easy for just about anyone to pack heat anywhere. Worst among their misfires are the arguments that if everyone has a gun, we’re all safer because nobody would dare pull a gun.

mark it! He continue to not hear compelling arguments, because of the above illustration.

Man, that’s just crazy talk. That used to be called Mutually Assured Destruction, or MAD, when we played that game with nukes. The only thing that will happen when everybody gets a gun is that more people will start shooting themselves, more good cops will quit because they don’t want to get shot by gun-toting dorks, more innocent people will be shot by nuts with guns who have no business handling them anywhere, especially in public places, and stores will sell more guns and bullets. Nothing there says “safer community” to me.

“Blood in the Streets”, Mark it!

Another stupid argument Neville made for ending concealed weapon permits is that Vermont, Arizona, Wyoming and Alaska do it.

Dude, this ain’t Wyoming. If you think it’s a kicking time to go to bars where lord-only-knows-who has a hog-leg in their boot, by all means, go there. Stay there.

Oh a rare “This isn’t X” argument! And doubly rare when “The South” isn’t the whipping boy for arrogant Northern Elitists. I seriously think All Anti-Rights people from Northeast Cities think the entire South is just a bunch of fat bearded white guys (with sun burned necks, natch) sitting around in lawn furniture in front of a single-wide passing around a moonshine jug and talking about how much they hate N***ers, and debating when its time to break out the sheets.

Just look to Arizona, land of the OK Corral and the Giffords’ meeting massacre. Supposed hero Joe Zamudio had a drive-through pistol in his pocket the day an insane man with a gun opened fire in Tucson.

He said it emboldened him to race to the scene. He pulled his gun on the wrong guy. “I told him to ‘Drop it, drop it,” he told TV reporters. He said he was just “lucky” he didn’t pull the trigger on the innocent man in the split seconds he had to decide what to do.

Man this guy is pushing for victory! We have an Old West Reference, a little Gabby Giffords blood-dancing (BTW How much love do you think these angry insult-slinging elitists would have for a pro-gun Democrat like Giffords if she HADN’T been shot?), and both admonishment for Joe Zamudio as well as misrepresenting the events.

I saved the best for last!

In fact, I would say that I would have been able to support Republican Sen. Tim Neville’s no-permit-necessary bill — if I were the only one it applied to. You see, being smarter than gun-nuts…Folks, luck isn’t what should be driving gun-control legislation. Wisdom and reason are what we need at the Capitol, and probably IQ tests.

Yep we have “Gun People are Stupid”, despite this being a fact-free piece filled with juvenile insults, and pure ignorance.

EPIC irony!

BTW somebody should make an anti-gun Bingo card! It would be fun to play!

Tit for Tat

From Ladd Everett and Lori O’Neill

@CSGV If gun industry couldn’t arm criminals, how would it scare ordinary people into buying more & more guns?

@GunSensus True. NRA gun laws arm homicid. maniacs like J. Loughner, then gun fanatics say they need 2 be armed 2 defend against these guys

And of course Anti-Rights laws like the ones supported by CSGV and the Brady Campaign (The groups that Everett and O’Neill represent) Kept people like George Hennard, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, Steven Kazmierczak,Sung Cho (Who BTW used two hand guns, and politely waited over a month between buying both guns to comply with Virginia’s “Effective” law), and Dwayne Moore among countless other prohibited people who have committed violent felonies inside of gun-free zones from getting guns and committing violent crimes.

Also thanks to their hard work, New York City’s Central park is a great place for a pick-nick or an evening jog or dog walking after dark.

Reality, they HATE it! Hate it like they hate FREEDOM!

Good News, Good News, and Bad News

Good News: Mitt Romney got DUSTED in the primary and Caucuses that were held yesterday. Good he’s an asshole and a bad person.

Good News: Newt Gingrich wasn’t the guy who won big. Actually he totally dropped the ball and wasn’t on some of the ballots. Good he’s an asshole and a bad person!

Bad News: Gay-Basher Rick Santorum cleaned up in the polls. Its a shame because he’s an asshole and a bad person.

Why does this movie scene come to mind.

Is there a reset button around here?

“Gun Death” Boating

Interesting case

A Burnet County man was sentenced on Friday to 100 days in county jail and 10 years of probation for failing to render assistance in a fatal boating incident on Lake Buchanan nearly 10 years ago….Investigators struggled with the case until late 2010, when they received information that Marburger once owned a boat that matched the description of the boat thought to have struck the teenagers’ craft.

During a search of property that Marburger owned near Bertram, Texas game wardens literally dug up the boat. Marburger admitted to burying the craft and having been at the helm in the early morning hours of May 3 when the boat struck Roberts’ boat head on.

Strange charges and how long it took to level them. Still while you don’t need a background check, I believe even on lakes all motor craft need to be registered. Does just as much good as it does with “Gun Death”.
