Or You Could Be a Gunnie!

Found this trailer for the latest twisted metal game:

So you enter into a contest to watch a video of a machine gun shooting a truck? Why don’t you just round up a machine gun and a truck and do it yourself? Its not as hard as you might think!

Its not that hard!

My Valentine’s Day Plans

So there’s a group (mostly Brady Campaign Members posing as a sister group) who are planning on boycotting starbucks.

Now these anti-rights cultists won’t really pose a threat. First they have no numbers, and second the few acolytes they DO have, don’t actually partake in Starbucks anyway, so the “Boycott” is essentially like the “Boycott” of Guns America.

Still its been suggested that we take their boycott date of Valentine’s day. There are a bunch of good suggestions. Some involve open carrying when you buy your beverage, paying with $2 bills, or better tipping with the twos, some have suggested handing out cards as you pay that thank Starbucks for their support in the 2nd Amendment. Barron is looking to find ways to send Starbucks to the troops overseas (Drop me an email, bud, I want to know how I can get on this!)

I’ll just share my plan. I don’t drink much coffee, and overall I’m not a Starbuck’s fan, but I found one near my house, so I think I’ll darken their door on Tuesday. Now OC is legal in Massachusetts, but people have been arrested, and had their permits revoked for ACCIDENTAL exposure of a carry piece, let alone intentional open carry, so I won’t do that. I might wear my 2nd Amendment T-shirt just to lay a subtle hint.

Still what I plan on doing is taking a picture of my receipt, and maybe my Coffee and aggregating this with every other blog post, or reader-submitted photos, much like the “Do More than Just Light a Candle” post, and then I will email a post of all the submissions and posts I can find to Starbucks Corporate feedback.

My goals are to make our point to where it matters most, the people that make policies, and count the money. I honestly don’t want to do TOO much showmanship in the actual coffee bar, as the staff and local management don’t really have much say on national Starbuck’s policy, and I am concerned about any sort of “Appreciation” being heard by somebody who may not like or know much about guns as “Hey I have a Gun! And you might hear this as a VERY veiled threat!”

Open carry I’m not too worried about, or 2nd Amendment apparel, or NRA gear ect, as those sort of things are often seen the least by the people who would be most upset, and given the focus by Starbucks by the anti-rights groups and the resulting counter-protests, they very well have likely seen lawful carry before.

I’m also a little wary of anything that says “Thank you for supporting my 2nd Amendment Rights” as Starbucks has done no such thing. They’ve actually done the RIGHT thing, which is stick to the coffee and confections, and leave gun laws to law makers and activists. Starbuck’s policy is simply stating that Starbucks doesn’t treat the 2nd Amendment any differently than your local state does. So if you live in a place that doesn’t support your rights, Starbucks is no different, and if you live in a gun friendly state you don’t have to do anything silly before you buy a coffee.

There are a ton of people doing this, so I just want to make sure the right people hear the good word!

So if you have a blog post something about your Valentine’s day experience and then leave a link in the comment section here, or on the post I’ll put up on Tuesday Morning. If you don’t have a blog or otherwise want me to host your photo email it to weerdbeard (AT) gmail(dot) com and I’ll put it up on the blog on the 15s and email it to Starbucks. If you send me a photo, try to do it before midnight on the 14th and write “Starbucks” in the subject line so your message and picture don’t get lost.

This should be fun!

Also I’d like to thank Blackhawk101 for helping inspire this event!

Have fun, and see you then!

Another Good Video!

Now I grumbled about how “Progressive” society treats people who act like adults, but I have to disagree with Bill. Being a responsible adult has its trials and tribulations, and when you look at just them, it DOES suck. But we all know a “Progressive” or two. Have you noticed one thing about them? Seems the more “Progressive” they are the more impotent they feel. They want EVERYTHING from the government, and nothing is their fault…but also they really don’t have anything to show for themselves. That also SUCKS!

Honestly the times when I have been MOST miserable in my life have been as a child because you are unhappy and helpless. When bad shit happens now in life, I’m a grown-up, I don’t sit there and cry, I get to fucking work and fix the shit.

Its just hard work to be a grown up, it just takes apathy to be a child.

How to Raise Your Kids Right!

Wow Bitter links this video. She suggests skipping ahead, I recommend watching the whole thing.

BTW the parks of this nation are filled with children, and adults acting like children, breaking the law, getting arrested, selling drugs, and holding up racist signs because most parents these days don’t have half the stones this loving Dad did.

She’ll never forget this, and I suspect once the smoke clears will love her Dad much more for it. And when her racist Marxist friends suggest they pitch a tent on public land against the law and hold up “KILL THE JEWS!!!” Signs while doing drugs, she’ll say “Fuck that noise, I have to get to work!!”

Good on you!

Oh and for you 1911 owners…don’t carry your 1911 in Condition 2, 1, 3, and 4 are much better, and safer.

This is What They Do

Sean has a great post up of a video rebutting a North Carolina doing what gun control proponents do. Which is lie, quoting junk science, making up information, and overall throwing ethics to the wind.

Hop over to Sean’s to read the post and watch the video. Sunlight is the best disinfectant to the creeping fungus that are anti-rights fanatics.

“Gun Death” Bus Driver

A Bunch of people sent me this one.

An on-duty bus driver went on a rampage on the crowded streets of a central Indian city Wednesday, killing nine people and injuring more than two dozen as he mowed down pedestrians and rammed other vehicles.

Huh? India with their strict gun control laws, also they license all drivers…yet we have mass murder with a bus! You can do a LOT of damage with a big piece of steel…LOTS more than with a gun!

Hey but this isn’t a “Gun Death” so it doesn’t count, right?

Quick Gunnie Question

I can call my S&W1911 a “1911” even tho it isn’t a Colt, and Tanfoglio is well known for making “Cz-75 Clones”, People call every 5-shot small-frame revolvers “J-Frames”, and all these .223/6.8/.300 Blackout rifles are “AR-15s” or “M4-style” guns.

But you can’t say “AR-10” because that’s a term reserved by Armalite, even tho everybody these days is making a long-action AR-rifle.

Why is that? Did Stoner just decide that THAT copyright name was worth holding on to?

Grab And Go Gun

I’m running with this term mentioned by A Girl and Her Gun over here.

Now first up I’ll say I urge everybody to work to carry the most guns and ammo on them as is comfortable and convenient. Nobody has ever wish they had brought LESS guns or ammo to a gun fight, and its certainly possible to have too little gun to get the job done.

That being said read Nancy’s GRAND SLAM post on “Better than Nothing”. If you decide that you only have “enough gun” by carrying a Glock 17, 3 33 round G18 mags, and two backup guns, unless you dress in a unique way there are going to be LOTS of times when you will NOT be able to carry that way.

Also there will be times when you will have to leave your home unexpectedly or quickly.

My daily carry is a 1911 in a shoulder holster with two spare mags. Still if that rig was my ONLY carry option there would be a LOT of times I just wouldn’t carry.

I still like the analogy of “getting a pack of smokes”. If you’re a non-smoker think hitting the all-night pharmacy for some medicine for a late-night illness, or maybe a friend or child needing a late-night ride home. But there is an instance when somebody might have to leave their home when they thought they might be bedded down for the night. Think of where you might be going to. A Convenient store (AKA Stop-and-Rob) or a Drug Store (Were they sell prescription meds that have a high street value), or driving somewhere (cars do break down).

These are LOUSY situations to not have a gun.

Another thing popped into my mind. Who hasn’t overslept when they needed to get to work? If you leave fast without grabbing your gun it’ll be ALL DAY before you’re home again.

All of these instances don’t leave you a ton of time, or desire for that matter, to gun up with your gun, your spare ammo, holster, belts, concealment garments, etc etc.

If you don’t have a Grab-and-Go gun and holster combo, you may leave without a gun, and if you encounter danger you won’t have a gun when you need one. You’re SOL.

The old saying has a LOT of weight, a .22 or .25 in your pocket beats a .44 or .45 back home in your gun safe. There’s something to be said about small pocket guns, they aren’t great guns, they aren’t very powerful, but you can quickly load and pocket a gun. One of these with you is better than you with nothing at all!

And of course while we say “Better than Nothing” its fun to come up with ways to maximize your “better than nothing”.

I went from a 5-shot .38 Special as my primary pocket gun to a 5+1 .45 ACP, and now I’m planning on seeing how often I can incorporate the Remora double mag carrier filled with 7-round magazines (the biggest .45 mags Kahr makes…if they make 8s I’ll buy those too!) so rather than just having 5 rounds of .38 Sp, I’ll have 20 rounds of .45 ACP.

Maybe you can stick a Glock 26 into a pocket or a Remora holster, and a G19 or G17 mag in a pocket. That would be 26 or 29 rounds of 9×19 with just one subcompact gun and ONE spare magazine!

If a rig isn’t comfortable and convenient you just won’t carry all the time, and having just one carry method is going to impose limitations. Still see how much gun you can make comfortable and convenient.

Isn’t your life, and the lives of your loved ones worth it?

This phrase came up with the review of the Remora Holster which requires no belt, no adjusting clips or loops, just tuck it into your waistband and pull your shirt over it and you’re done.

This is How They See the World

Really you’d think how many anti-rights blogs and tweets and articles I read I’d KNOW how they see the world and accept it. Still sometimes I’m just floored by their divorce from reality.

The NRA strikes again: keeping criminal’s guns on the streets in Georgia

And Jason Kilgore of the Joyce foundation links this article:

Yesterday, Senate Bill 350 passed unanimously in the state Senate Judiciary Committee, along with an amendment submitted by bill sponsor and state Senator Don Balfour (R-9) that would require law enforcement agencies to begin the process of returning seized firearms within thirty days of a court’s final judgment.

SB 350, along with the supported amendment, would mandate municipal, county and state police authorities return all seized firearms, not currently being held as evidence in a criminal investigation, to the lawful owner if able. If the lawful owner is not found or unable to take possession of the firearm, SB 350 would require these agencies to sell these firearms at a public auction to a licensed firearms dealer. Current Georgia law allows for seized guns to be immediately destroyed.

SB 350 would also prevent the wasteful and expensive practice of destroying firearms that could be re-circulated through licensed dealers to the retail market. Localities would be enabled with the ability to reap the benefits of the sale proceeds and consumers would have access to affordable firearms through licensed dealers, with all of the usual safeguards that apply to dealer sales to the public.

The ONLY way I can wrap my mind around that statement is that Jason thinks that if a criminal touches or uses a gun, that gun is forever instilled with the powers of evil.

Or given that Joyce Trolls seems to always insinuate that ALL GUN OWNERS are criminals, just many haven’t been caught yet, maybe they think that having the guns transferred to FFLs where they can be sold (with background checks) to law-abiding citizens who want them.

Now note that the current law dictates the guns are destroyed. It costs money to melt or cut guns to ATF specs, and then it can only be sold as scrap metal, which when it comes to the metals used for guns, its not worth THAT much. Not saying gun metal is junk, but really how much are you going to get for Stainless steel? Silver isn’t even worth THAT much by the pound.

Meanwhile guns are crafted durable goods that are worth a good deal. Even “Potmetal Junk Guns” like Hi-Points go for north of $100 new, and generally not a ton less used. I can’t imagine you can reclaim the Zamak and Polymer from the gun for much more than $10 AFTER paying to reduce them to scrap state. So this is a colossal waste of tax payer money.

And BTW, Thugsley the Crack dealer’s Taurus sold from the police evidence locker for pennies to an FFL might make for a VERY affordable piece for a single Mom that only can afford to live in Thugsley’s old ‘Hood.

And again every gun sold this way comes with a background check!

But for somebody who hates freedom they can ONLY see a slam-dunk law like this as a BAD thing.

They are not normal, they are NOT like us. This is why they support something that is demonstrably wrong.

You’ve Lost Kos, You’ve Lost the War

Gun control is an extremist ideal of the very far left. I suspect that’s why the Brady Campaign fired Republican Paul Helmke. But even when it comes to the far left, only a small fraction of those don’t agree with the anti-rights extremists!

First Mikeb302000 was banned from the Daily Kos for being a troll and openly hostile to the Kos Members, now the CSGV is trying to push the posts of a common fool on Kos.

Have a read of those comments. I bet antis read this and say “Look at all the right-wing trolls on Kos!”

You’ve lost Kos, you’ve lost the war. You have no allies left!
